Is our scouting system falling apart?

A young United and City played each other recently, United fielded a team with 6 home grown players. City had one home grown player on the pitch, the rest...? bought in.........!!

What level was this at? We have tons of homegrown at almost every level and it's hard to see like the under-9s team full of kids from Brazil and London.

Unfortunately I'm not aware, I was listening into a converstaion of which I only caught part....its wasn't the very early years at the accademy though....

Perhaps they meant the EDS team which does have a lot of bought players but that doesn't even count as a level of the academy. Our under-16s and under-18s teams have lots of homegrown players.

Changes are happening on the QT. Anyone else know about this?

EduKick England Football Academy Relocates to Manchester…Manchester City Football Club's "Football Development Team" to Provide all Football Training.

hope somebody can offer us more info - website looks a bit iffy

Anyone know what is going on here, are these being 'let go' or 'poached'? That's four now gone to the Dippers.

Manchester City scouts Rob Newman and David Fernandez are to join Liverpool.

The Anfield club have already brought in Dave Fallows as head of scouting and recruitment plus Barry Hunter from City’s backroom team this summer.

we got Arsene Wenger.

Remember reading a few articles last year how good our scouting system, how detailed reports are made by our scouts, it is a worldwide system, with lot of man working in it,really professional etc.

If it was that good they wouldnt leaving City one by one...

Something is going on behind the scenes, hope its not something horrible but something good/better.

The reported Mancini - Marwood thing, the scouts leaving, cannot really described so well. Lombardo taking over the youth/reserves also doesnt seem a fantastic idea. If he keeps playing Mancini's son instead of other City youth players with real future then it was a joke change even if Welsh was very bad.

There is another post some where that states "are you worried" and most if not all of the people on there say no we are not,

I am not sure why but with this academy thing now this young lad choosing the rags over us, we have a stand in ceo with no light on if we are getting a Perm one, no players coming in all our back room scouting staff going to other clubs who we might be fighting for games with, normally city are great with keeping us up to date with things that are happening but this sends shivers down me now we are having 56 quid home games against Southampton?

ever one is saying "oh well we have to watch out for FFP" what a load of shit that is.

How can people worry about FFP when Chelsea have nearly spent in a couple of windows what we have for the past 3 years, it does worry me a lot. (let the flaming commence)

Sound interesting this....is this so that links are set up when we have new Youth Accadamy in place I wonder?

About 2 weeks ago we brought in Sebastian Arnesen (Franks lad) and Jan Ricka from Hamburg, dont worry we know what we are doing.

In reference to the youth coaching we've had major changes at the younger levels that obviously dont get reported on as much.

We've just nicked Simon Cooper a youth guru from Stockport County, Gareth Taylor a City old boy coaches the Under 13/14's. So dont worry everything is still running along smoothly.

@Stretford Born Blue - I feel sorry for your lad mate, it may have been wrong place wrong time when he had his trial. Do you know which goalkeeper coach was about that day? if it was David Felgate I'd be shocked that he didnt incorporate some goalkeeping sessions as he is right up there. The other guys are Tim Dittmer and Roy Tunks (who I'm sure some of you will have heard of)
