Full back depth is a big issue. If god forbid Cancello got a knock for any length of time we'd be struggling. Plus it's a big ask for him to play 60 plus games, unless we are already sure we have a replacement to step in from within the club.

We only have two experienced fullbacks in the squad. That to me is a weakness and a bit daft.. But Pep will make do and mend.eg ( Stones or Laporte]....... but they won't play as wing backs. I really think it's bizarre that we've not bought a proper left back for two years.

I’d say the starting eleven is better but the squad is probably weaker. We need a left back otherwise we will really struggle in the cups due to lack of depth imo

He can't defend. I'm hoping Wilson-Esbrand is going to storm through this season in place of Zinkers.

I'm assuming we will sign a left back but even with thatbI'd still say the squad goes into the season a little bit weaker due to the fact we've lost a lot of tried and tested experience and replaced it with a lot of as of yet unproven potential that's going to take a period to settle. crucially though, we're a younger squad with a much higher ceiling so it will very quickly change to a better squad.

I reckon we'll give Brighton a take it or leave it bid for Cucurella this week and if we don't get him then we'll move on to a secondary target but think Brighton will let him go. If that happens then I'd be quite happy with how things stand squad wise.
