Is Silva actually that good?

There's a couple of 'glass half empty' characters on here. Just bloody well enjoy the fact that we've signed one of Europe's top midfield players. I haven't seen much of the player either, but when you have a look at the clubs who have tried to sign him over the last couple of seasons, you should have the nouse to work out that he is a very, very sought after football player, and yet without CL football he's chosen Man City........just fucking enjoy it!

very few goals for a lot of appearances, I counted 37 assists too in his pro career.... Not gonna judge him but we should have got Villa, or at least be going for the cream of players. not the transfer crumbs
No wonder citymancs rejected you.

Not quite sure what the problem is with what I wrote. I looked at the players stats which is what I do whenever we are signing a player. The stats are easy to find.

I got kicked out of City mancs for commenting on the Spuds/Spurs/Tottenham game and using the traditional term for the Y*D army... So nothing to do with my opinions just the wrong word when the mod was obviously having his period

OP when you say "Is Silva actually that good", how good do you mean? Do you mean world class (Messi Iniesta) or the class below (Robben Sneider)?

I've watched a lot of Spanish, Champions Lg and Europa Lg footy and Valencia have been on a fair amount so it's fair to say i have seen a good amount of Silva (from what can be seen on the tele).

He's sometimes very good - however, not at Villa's level - can score, can assist, keeps the ball very well, likes a shot from outside the box, most things you'd expect from a good froward. But sometimes you don't really notice him make an impact on the game. Which is where he isn't world class.

Time will tell. The fast paced Engish game may or may not suit him, but he is better than what we have (Bellamy/AJohnson!)!

"transfer crumbs" is what was wrong. The idea that a player of Silva's calibre represents "transfer crumbs" is so incredibly stupid I find it hard to believe that any halfway sensible blue would post it.

This is what I thought from what I have seen about him. The signing from Valencia should have been Villa (Chumps league would have aided this no end). I think Johnson is class though he is a proper committed player!

This just feels like we were trying to get one over on Chelski and the Rags, which is great in a way, but only time will tell. (and he defo signed "just for the Money" and no I am not a rag!!)

Good luck to the lad.

The soon to be Bluemoon-Reject

Two years ago I would have cheerfully donated Anne Widdecombe's uterus to sign this player.

And as for the rags and all of them saying he's only signed for the money, so f*****g what?

We've got him, you ain't - get over it.
