Never heard an MP say that? And who are you calling uneducated? Are you saying that you would have to be uneducated to beleive in an afterlife or have any type of spirituality. I don't consider myself uneducated and I beleive in an after life

Ducado's right, just because there's no evidence to support an afterlife does not mean you have to be an idiot/uneducated to believe in one. It's very much a personal choice.

Nobody knows 100% for sure, so to ascertain otherwise is somewhat erroneous. Even Hawking has just said this is the way "he regards" it. Far from a fact.

The way Hawking is looking at it is that it's not necessary to have an afterlife, there's no supporting evidence, so therefore it is simply wishful thinking to believe in one. If wishful thinking is your mantra though then I can appreciate that wholly.

I have often found myself wondering if there could be something scientific behind the notion of reincarnation. We see cycles in nature a lot, so it's not ridiculous to believe in a 'soul' cycle. Of course I can't justify this belief, it's almost illogical, but so are many things humans think.

Hmmmm this is always a tricky one and after years of some pretty fierce rows with Zin about religion issues I tend to avoid these topics like the plague but sh*t I can't resist!

I don't deny science and I don't deny that men like Stephen Hawking know a hell of a lot more than I will ever know. I also agree that in large part that faith is a man made construct that makes us all feel we have a purpose for being and affirms our life rather than letting us all focus on our eventually snuffing it.

Where I get stuck tho is that I believe in ghosts as I've had a few family members who have encountered it and I trust them entirely when they tell me it was real. So that opens another big can of worms and I go round in circles. Is there a messiah and a heaven - I dunno, I mean who does. But I guess if you're a good person it wouldn't matter what you believed in you will always find your way to 'heaven' in any case.

But just in case when u cark it that's you're lot I guess I shud book a holiday in the closest place on earth - the Maldives :)
