Stevie's performance today wasn't helped by Michael Brown crunching his foot fairly early on, to be fair.

Totally agree with this.

He's a dirty fucker that Brown - didn't even get yellow carded for it either!!!!!!!!

I agree completely, those who spout sacrifice for the greater good of the team.... yeah when were short on numbers for the position which is abundantly clear we are not. Is ireland a better holding midfielder than de jong? nope. its a catch 22 for hughes, he doesn't want to upset the masses by taking ireland or swp out of the team, when infact these two should be vying for the attacking midfield role, i'm sorry but de jong should be starting, barry and him would be phenomenal, stevie is distinctly average in that role....... ffs he could score 15 this year in his preferred position.

I would take SWP out and bring De Jong in. Let hom hold the midfield together with Barry and let Stevie run riot like he does best.

It pisses me off that our best player is not being played in his best position. The only good thing is, Stevie is so professional he won't mind doing it

Surely the answer to this is we've played 4 competetive games and won 4, so whatever your view of Ireland as an individual player is not relevent. It's the overall team that is the only consideration.
