Is Stevie Ireland being wasted???

Yep, you got me.

Ask the men in the white coats to organise a van to come and send me to rag prison.

And, ffs, pull that tinfoil hat down a bit further. The rags are coming for you and you need to be ready for them.

I swear this is a bit de ja vu to a thread I started the other day involving Stevie Ireland and how he is wasted in this position.

Totally agree, glad other people see it!!

FFS Ireland scored 15 goals last season, if he was a forward clubs would pay £20m for that number of goals. He should have the free role, Barry less of a free role and we should have a stronger anchor on the right of midfield, a more defensive player..
Said in another thread, that he had to get forward so much last year, because apart from him, the only goal scoring option we had was Robinho. And if I was Robinho and had a striker like Caicedo, Chad Evans, Benjani, or Sturridge, in front of me, I'd be looking for Ireland's run too...

We now have Robi, Tevez, Bellamy, Adebayor, and an in form Wright-Phillips ahead of him on the pitch. He needs to just bide his time and use his unhuman fitness to his advantage. He did this against Blackburn with amazing effect.

Ireland will probably score less goals than he did last season, but as a team we will score more. This is a good thing.

I agree completely! Ireland may be losing out on his goal scoring potential but he will be an even more well rounded player this season and although most of his contributions may go unnnoticed he will be just as important! When Barry and Ireland start linking up more we will see more goals come from Stevie if not then probably alot of assists!

He needs to be given free role to do what he does best, not restricted to holding the midfield together alongside Barry
I for one could live with ireland having a terrible season and the team winning the league.

look no further than liverpool gerrard will finish his carear being the dippers best player but never having won the league.

surely it is about the team not the indivual !
