Is the Family Stand fit for Purpose?

I have sat in the family stand since 2007. I am now 16 and I'd love to move from there into the south stand l3. European nights are no fun because many people don't bother as they can't bring their children you are just surrounded by tourists or rival fans. Home games have got worse, if you try and sing people look at you and give u the eye. The majority are great fans just far to many people don't like you to show any passion towards the team.

Annoys me that we kick towards the family stand 9 times out of 10 in the second half. Surely should kick towards our most vocal support in the second half

Yeah, i mean it really backfired on us against QPR in May 2012 in the 2nd half didn't it..

Let me guess - you sit in the south stand half?!
Us who sit in the north stand half are quite happy with the kicking that way in the 2nd half of the last 5 years - and i think results on the pitch show the same :)

Open up two blocks for teenagers in the new third tier ( North ) to go on their own with their mates. Ages 13 to 16 for these blocks. Make it season cards for them at £2 a game, so £36 gets a 13-16 a season card. Get the groups of mates going from school again.

Bloody hell! Do you think with a bit of plastic surgery i could pass for 13 again?

Tell me again why a 13 year old should get a season ticket for £2 a match...?
Oh and your logic is flawed as you do know city don't allow under 16s in without an adult, so you'll never "Get the groups of mates going from school again" as you put it - i hate to tell you this, but the 80s are (unfortunately) 30 years ago mate.

I really wouldn't begrudge a 13 year old going for that price, its what football is all about.

Definitely should be moved up to the 3rd tier. Getting to the point where it's embarrassing to score at that end towards the end of the game.

Bollocks is it! Not £2 a match as a season ticket for 13 to 16 like the poster suggested!
Ok i was 13 in 1988, i guess with inflation a £2 match ticket now would mean i paid what about 10p match? Pretty sure that never happened.

Will never happen now either anyway.

Yes i know it needs to be cheap for the next gen, but the current gen are pretty skint as well yet we never seem to count for much unless we have "future fans to bring with us", we're just the cash cow at £700 for a seat down the length of the pitch on level 1. You shouldn't have to sit in the gods behind the goal to get a cheap seat btw.

Yes, i'm grumpy tonight ;) Apologies ;)

Lot of overly defensive family standers in here! There are loads of empty seats in the North stand for most games regardless of kick off time or competition and it has been that way for years now. It is undeniably detrimental to the city brand to have swathes of empty seats in the most televised part of the ground. Surely it is worthy of discussion.

now I'm not having a go at family who sit in the north /family stand, but I would put the season card for young uns at say £8 a game. I know it will put the cost up to £152 but still at that price its still good. at the moment if you don't go you lose out by £5, it might make you go if you spend a bit more on the ticket. Or better still if you don't go put your ticket back to city and your seat could get sold and you get a bit back on next years s/c

Just imagine how many goals we'd score if we kicked the other way.

The reason we score more goals in the second half (its been happening for at least the last 5 years) is because our opponents are fucked from closing us down.

There's a case that with more vocal support we'd score many more.

I doubt there is any link whatsoever.

Clearly the players like kicking towards the FS in the second half as they have been doing it for as long as I can remember.

As for moving them to Thrid tier. It's hard enough just walking yourself up there never mind with a kid.
