Is the Family Stand fit for Purpose?

Annoys me that we kick towards the family stand 9 times out of 10 in the second half. Surely should kick towards our most vocal support in the second half

its not just night games though it never looks full. i think a number of tickets in the north stand are given to youth teams or groups of local kids ??

Yes a lot of groups get tickets for that stand, that's why you get blocks of empty seats rather than just odd seats.

You get a lot of empty seats whether it's school night or not, it's just the way it is, my lad is 18 now and I always took him to the match on a school night even when he was in primary school, I don't think it's bad parenting if he goes to bed late now and then it wasn't as so it was every week.
I know it's up to the individual , and I know some of you live far away , I'm just lucky I live 30 to 45 mins drive away.

I think the family should be just in the 2nd tier but going round further on either side, only cos I feel sorry for the young kids getting pissed wet through all the time which can't be much fun for the kids and parents alike. And on the lower tier make it into another singing section , so we have one on opposite sides of the ground.

Its only a matter of time before its full of dirty old men with life-like child sex dolls :-(

When I watched the replay of sterling's (non) penalty on wednesday night it made me wonder that if it had happened at the other end in front of the south stand and not a load of empty seats it might have made the difference of the ref giving the penalty. Where it happened was in front of a load of empty seats and to not give the pen was the easy option. Had there been a load of city fans right there in front of it seeing it was a stone wall pen it probably would have put the ref on the spot to make the (correct) decision. Fine margins

Regardless of that, the question has to be asked and something probably has to be sorted with the north stand. Far too many empty seats far too often. I'm not sure of the solution but it can't be the best set up the way it is. If this is the best we can do then it's very disappointing and I suppose we just have to be patient

Absolutely agree with this...and the South Stand is still fairly full up to the final whistle
unlike the other end. Maybe the 1894 group should have a banner telling the players which way to kick in the second half haha!!!.

just 25 empty seats available on the planner , (all singles scattered around the lower tiers) for todays game against Palace , be interesting to note if this is reflected at the game

Does that include tier 3 - the ones where the away fans should be. Was about 500 left in there yesterday.

I'm bringing four guys who normally wouldn't go to the game. I got a bit giddy with the £20 tickets but thought this was a good opportunity to help ensure the game was sold out.

Any actual attendance of over 50k is a good gate MHO!
