Is the Manchester Derby the biggest derby in England?

In ENGLAND no team hates another more than City hate United. Give it a few years before United fans hate us more than Liverpool. I think its a similar situation in Merseyside between blue and red.

By the by just thought i'd point out that (from growing up darn saff) I know supporters of a lot of London clubs, and although everyone talks about the North London derby, I can assure you that there is thick hatred between Spurs and Chelsea more so than either team with Arsenal.

Wolves v West Brom
Saints v Pompey
Also get a shout... but (maybe because I've lived here for a few years) I cannot believe no one has mentioned the rivalry between t'Blades and Owls. There was LOADS of trouble after the match at Bramall Lane last season.

In the 80's this derby got over 40,000 in the old 4th division.
And yes, they do fucking hate each other.

My bro lives in sheffield he witnessed some of the fighting last season.

The two Manchester Derbies are watched live by a total of 125,000 people, so yes, it's the biggest derby in the country. And by quite some distance.

Biggest game of the season? No. Fiercest rivalry? No. Most violent? No. But biggest derby? Yes.

Scouse would be a very, very close second. The North London derby is just a petty squabble between well-to-do neighbours.

United-Liverpool is definitely the biggest game in England.

But, like Barca-Real Madrid, it isn't a derby, so doesn't count in terms of this conversation.
