Nobody has suggested that though! At least I haven't.It's unbelievable, isn't it?
It is obvious to anyone with half a brain that the smooth transition of Nacho from young prospect to first team regular is a big feather in the cap of all of our footballing management staff; youth and first team. It sends a message out to the currrent young players (half a dozen or more who have debuted for the first team this season) and a message out to future young signings.
He is the standard bearer but there will be more. The system is already working a treat and it's only just begun.
It's making me laugh all this lemon sucking from those nay-Sayers and doom-merchants who have swallowed the media bullshit about us having no interest in youth. His progress this season has been a masterclass in the final phase of youth development: first team integration. And others are following beautifully. As I've said repeatedly, ADUG are not in the business of investing hundreds of millions into our academy without taking it incredibly seriously.
I'm fully behind everything the club is doing with regards to bridging the gap metaphorically from the CFA to the Etihad, I totally trust the top brass at the club and continually sing their collective praises whilst others argue with rags about empty seats, no youth or some other school ground level quarrel.
Sheikh Mansour outlined his ambition regarding youth in 2008 and it's folly to suggest we have no interest in bringing young players through the academy to the first team. In fact the people who often spout this sort of shite tend to be know fuck all rags. Or like you say dumb blues who fall for the media narrative in their daily newspaper.
