Within in a minute of chatting to a new Wales fan in some random country, I tend to get “you don’t sound Welsh, butt” and a wry smile. They’re right. I don’t.

I like Brian Kidd’s Manchester accent. It’s warm. The boxer Terry Flanagan has got a very strong Manc accent, IMO. A friend of mine from Gorton has too. It’s the strongest I’ve heard.

Coronation Street has had a few shockers over the years. Saying that, loads of the cast are from Yorkshire.

Ironically plenty of the Emmerdale cast are Mancs or Yonners.

I suffer from wandering accent syndrome where I mirror what someone can say accidentally. However, I believe this lad was faking.
