Don't much care about the results of friendlies. But the performances become more important going into August, because we're so close to the start of the season and people begin playing for places. It's pity this was World Cup year.
When you have five or six new players who are also likely to be first team regulars, the more competitive friendlies are important.

i would rather lose EVERY preseason game apart from the last before season starts. if city have a good preseason they get off to a stinker, if we had a bad preseason we get off to a flier, always typical city

I dread the silly whinging that seems to be accompanying these games when something is not to people's liking. We're not the only ones who do this. Spuds had an utter melt down earlier in the week when they lost a pre season 1-4. Keep some perspective is what I say.

true. i just think that united have a shit team these days but they approach each game with the correct frame of mind. that is why they do so well. when you see our players score in pre-season they can barely muster a smile.
