is winning important ,in friendly s

I'm not trying to make the losses feel better. I feel fine about the losses. No form training, running round a track or whatever, are as good as a training match for match fitness. And do you know what, the fitness progression of the lads last night will be better becuase it was a ten v eleven game because they would have had to work harder.

We were exactly the same in South Africa on last seasons summer tour, slow, lacked cohesion, desire, skill, style, were actually shit. We won our first four Prem games! Says it all, training games mean jack shit!

Overall I have been impressed with our performances given the players who have been on tour. The usual suspects still stand out, but that is why we have strengthened the left back and right back areas. For me Yaya is going to be one hell of a signing and defensively we have been OK, rather the gremlins are sorted out pre season than when it matters. Once we have our FULL squad to choose from I expect us to start winning. Only downside is this blasted friendly 3 days before the opener with the prospect of Tevez having to travel long distances for friendly games, pah!!!!!!!!!

Nonsense freindlies are training matches nothing more, players are trying to get a rythm going and there sharpness back nothing more, if it was so important to win these matches we would play our strongest possible side in every game, some players don't like losing these matches but that is down to pride nothing more

i would rather lose EVERY preseason game apart from the last before season starts. if city have a good preseason they get off to a stinker, if we had a bad preseason we get off to a flier, always typical city

I was going to post this aswel.

Team spirit, fitness and steering clear of injuries are what matters.

It's absolutely vital that we start the season well or the manager will come under huge pressure. I think we might come to regret spending so much time travelling in USA when we should be working on the training ground. And a significant number of our 1st team players haven't joined up yet.

This is very poor preparation for the season. The World Cup aftermath plus new signings and international friendlies makes it very difficult for Mancini and he has his own problems

Prepare for a difficult start to the season

I'm very unimpressed with the impact that Tevez, Silva, Kolarov & Boateng have made on the pre season tour. And dont get me started on Robinho.

I'd be happier if they were there losing.

Not ideal to Kick Off on Aug 14th with 3 new players who haven't played together

The American pre-season tour was a PR exercise where players were upping their fitness and trying not to get injured. How many of the new signings were playing?? Where was Tevez? Was the team that played Inter anything like the expected starting 11 will be at Spuds? answer NO. We even ended up with 10 men due to cheating by Inter.

I've no doubt the usual critics will be crawling out of the woodwork on SSN and M.E.N and Talk sh*te.

If the 1st 11 had played like this and gone down 3-0 at Spuds then perhaps we'd have reason to criticise but no some meaningless friendly.
