is winning important ,in friendly s

On the plus side for today, this is Inter's first pre-season friendly. Hopefully that means they will treat it like we treated the Timbers/Sporting games and just play youths. Getting a few goals past Inter can only help morale and attract attention from the Americans watching the game, etc etc.

A meaningless friendly which I hope we win 10-0 but if we lose then I won't lose any sleep over it because it was only a meaningless friendly after all ;-)

No.

Other than help in getting the guys match fit, it means nothing.

It never has and never will be important.

No, it isn't important but it is important to look as if we're working on patterns of play or trying different ideas, we just haven't looked as if we're doing anything other than just 'turning up' for these games.
In the long run these games don't matter at all but i think we would expect slightly better performances seeing as last nights side contained at least 6 or 7 players that will be in our starting eleven at the start of the season.
It's gonna take time.

Don't much care about the results of friendlies. But the performances become more important going into August, because we're so close to the start of the season and people begin playing for places. It's pity this was World Cup year.
When you have five or six new players who are also likely to be first team regulars, the more competitive friendlies are important.

still preseason was to get guys get going and fit , they looked shite yesterday.Dont think we can win tottenham away.

Friendlies are meaningless until you start getting lots of negative press about them. A few years ago, our friendlies wouldn't even register with anyone, but now everyone wants a piece of us. 3-0 means SSN and Talkshite will be all over us. I don't really care too much, as long as City fans ignore it and don't start Mancini out threads.

i dont want anyone sacked ...but its foooooking sh iteee to keep watching us play crap ...we have not looked any fitter from the 1st game in america to the last ..i also would say at a wild guess ,that we have worse record of all the premiership teams in pre season ,,but you lot say smile loosing is ok ..

yozzer judge the manager and players on results in the prem etc,i dont give a toss about losing friendlies, and to be fair not B/Ms first eleven ,lets see how we do v spurs.

the nitty griity of pre season starts next week when the whole squad will be together!
