Isco & Cavani

Isco falls by the wayside

From starter status to reserve, Isco, who started the season stockpiling goals, praise, applause and headlines, has become the main casualty of Ancelotti's formation change and his definitive choice of the 4-3-3.

While 'Carletto' was flirting with a variety of systems over the course of the first eight games, Isco was a mainstay in the starting line-up; since he decided on a tactical change against FC Copenhagen, the Golden Boy has been a regular on the bench.

The former Málaga player, with the impetus of a summer break cut short by the Under-21s European Championships, hit the ground running to start the season. His spectacular form helped justify the sale of Özil. "With Isco and Bale, there's no place for Özil", was the word from the offices at the Bernabéu.

Isco scored 4 goals in the first five games of the season. He had the Bernabéu at his feet. He was on course to be a contender for the 'Pichichi' (top league goalscorer), but he began to run out of steam. He has not scored since the fifth league game of the season, against Getafe at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, and has now gone seven consecutive league games without hitting the target. His last full match came a week earlier, against Villarreal on 14th September.

Isco's performance statistics look even worse for the Champions League. The Golden Boy scored in Turkey against Galatasaray, in his continental competition debut with Real Madrid, but he has only played 105 minutes out of a possible total of 360.

dont know if he will be available n january , but given nasri's form so far and jovetic to come back am not sure

I would sign him in a heartbeat if we had the opportunity. His talent is undoubted. Many a great player fall by the wayside at Real, like Ozil etc. I doubt Real would let him go but if he did he would be a great addition

isco is no different to nasri .

jovetic is also an attacking midfielder. he can be play the nasri/silva role aswell. i cant wait until this guy joins the tika taka.

Totally disagree. Isco is more of a goal scorer. He's got 4 to Nasri's 2 this year. Isco had 9 in the league and 3 in the CL last year compared to 2 league goals and 1 CL goal for Nasri. Plus Isco can take players on the dribble and create offense, Nasri isn't that type pf player and we only have 1 player who can do that, Navas who hasn't been very good at it.

We all know Nasri's form runs hot and cold so not 100% convinced he'll do the business for us in the long term but hands up he's been in magnificent of late so hopefully that'll continue. We'd probably have first dibs on Isco joining with MP as coach here so if I were City I'd definitely be monitoring his situation however Madrid would have to be pretty insane to let him leave (Then again they sold Ozil but will lightening strike twice??) whilst Modric remained there.

Isco is a gem of a player. Cavani is an overpriced good player but love Negredo so don't miss that signing!
Madrid ready to offload isco by all accounts will city persue him

Should. He's the kind of player who can unlock defenses that pile row upon row. He can provide the answer on the road.

Out of all those strikers on offer for huge sums (soldado, falcao, cavani, etc), i think we got the right one at the right price simple. The Beast is ripping it up here.

(Still waiting on Jovetic, shame about his injuries)

Well Isco is a tough one, we dont really need him, but this guy is the next iniesta. Hes still 21 (or 22 if hes had his birthday since the summer ha), hes got sumpreme talent and soon he will be worth 40 million when we missed the chance to get him for 27 million.
I would have loevd to see isco but its not an area were supremely short on. (Would help when silva has his annual month out with injury, though)

We need a central defender not another midfielder. Navas and Silva have been absolutely outstanding. No way do we need another No.10, and the call for another centre forward when we don't need Dzeko is just as daft
