You just cannot even compare Sterling with Isco. One has the potential to be an absolute megastar, the other is simply overrated and overpriced and has a lot more to prove in a City shirt.

The previous poster is bang on, why not strive for better? After all, you can never have enough top quality players in your squad, considering we are competing in all 4 competitions every season.

we have just bought him, he's only 21 and is one of the best young players in europe and we should replace him. you can't and shouyldnt have 11 galacticos i nthe squad. it would make no sense at all to buy someone to replace sterling.

An opportunity comes up to sign a player of his ilk at his age and you jump at it, whether he is 'needed' or not. Another one who is perfect for a Pep system.

that doesn't make any sense, you surely buy players that you need and think work well in the team. madrid did exactly what your saying buying the next big star, despite the fact it didn't help the team and they already had players as good. i think he's a great player, but i just dont see how he's what we need right now.

Never seen him play, however after reading some posts on here I am expecting performances akin to Messi!

This man has recently said that Real Madrid will not sell Isco in January

Same here, 50million spent 6 months ago on England's brightest 20 year old and we should be looking to strive for better already? Jesus, give the kid a chance!

I'd love us to sign Isco, but I see him playing in central midfield, possibly a long term replacement for Yaya. He's a completely different player of course, doesn't have the strength and physicality, but for me the hardest thing to replace in Yaya's game is his quality on the ball and ability to dictate play from deep with the quality of his passing. Isco is well capable of filling that role in the long term.
Agreed , central midfield is where we need to strengthen , I just believe that someone like Pjanic , Koke or Kroos would better fit the bill , especially in the premier league where you need a bit of physicality

If pep is coming then he would be great , playing the iniesta role in a 433 , but we already have three players already who fit the bill in de bruyne , nasri and silva

What we don't have is a Xavi type player , Yaya could play this role but he's not disciplined enough. Perhaps Thiago could be prised from Bayern

To be a great team you need world class players surrounded by people who make the system work. If you get a chance to sign someone who is the sort of talent that is normally unavailable then you can't pass it up worrying about the little cogs you need instead. There will always be more foot soldiers available, players like Isco don't become available very often, especially at the price being mentioned.

You can't moan about how we get worse when anyone is injured, but then complain when we look at adding a 4th top player for 3 positions. There will be more than enough games in a season to easily rotate Silva, Isco, De Bruyne and Sterling, probably along with one or two less high profile options who can do a job. (like Navas)

Seems unfair to call Isco overrated and overpriced...
