Isco (merged)

We've seen with Otamendi that if a good player comes available we will move for him, even if it seemed we were well stocked in that department at the time.

If we can get Isco get him before someone else moves for him, will bring a new dimention to the middle of the park as someone who's prepared to do the dirty work and be cultured in what he does with the ball. It's not like we can't afford him and a new face may give the dressing room a lift.

I agree that there are far more pressing concerns in our squad (I'd go as far as to say that attacking midfielders is the one area that doesn't really need strengthening).

I imagine the other positions (full back, centre half, centre mid and forward) will be addressed in summer.

I just think this was one of those opportunities that has presented itself to us, similar to Otamendi, and we think it's worth a punt. If we get him then great, if not it's not the end of the world.

Not entirely sure where he'd fit into our team at present, but I think he's an upgrade on Nasri and a potential long term successor to Silva.

I don't really understand why people don't want Isco. If a top class footballer comes available, you have to jump at the opportunity of bringing them in, no matter whether another position is more of a priority. Isco is a fantastic player, he is younger than Silva and has a particular type of style which will suit our side. He is the heir to David Silva's throne, he is the perfect replacement for Silva (who is not getting any younger) for the next decade. I would absolutely love to see them play together in the same side, but we don't have to go looking in the next few years for a Silva replacement. Get the business done nice and early and solve that problem. We have seen how much we miss Silva when he is out injured, having Isco would take the burden off the majestic David.

It is an ABSOLUTE no brainer. Would be a perfect signing for us to push us for title glory this season.

Exactly!

Same here, 50million spent 6 months ago on England's brightest 20 year old and we should be looking to strive for better already? Jesus, give the kid a chance!

I'd love us to sign Isco, but I see him playing in central midfield, possibly a long term replacement for Yaya. He's a completely different player of course, doesn't have the strength and physicality, but for me the hardest thing to replace in Yaya's game is his quality on the ball and ability to dictate play from deep with the quality of his passing. Isco is well capable of filling that role in the long term.

You just cannot even compare Sterling with Isco. One has the potential to be an absolute megastar, the other is simply overrated and overpriced and has a lot more to prove in a City shirt.

The previous poster is bang on, why not strive for better? After all, you can never have enough top quality players in your squad, considering we are competing in all 4 competitions every season.
