Ballague seems to be saying Real wouldn't even entertain the idea of a deal this window, which is patently not true as talks have definitely place, and at a high level.

Either something has changed in the last few hours for Ballague to be so cocksure, or he is simply guessing and doesn't actually have a clue. I think/hope it's the latter.

Iirc he was saying real would hijack the deal in 2013 when we had him in the bag. Look how that turned out.

Zidane is Isco's idol, he was part of the reason he chose there.

Since arriving, his Dad got rich, he won the C.L and he has watched James and Kroos get bought, he also watched his mate leave as soon as he arrived and has failed to stamp a place into the team under a couple of coaches. Pressure to shoehorn Bale, Ronaldo and James into a team is a must for any coach at Madrid. Thats why their team is so unbalanced. Granted James has struggled for time under Rafa but the point remains.

Isco will move and will have to asap for his Spain place. Fortunately for him, United have devastated Mata, a player twice Chelsea POTY who looks a shadow of himself, alongside Silva he should be chose for Spain. The key now for City is to let him do the running and rumbling, we sit back and smugly offer about what they paid for him from Malaga. Too keen and price goes up. I see this happening next week very promptly so Madrid can go for a CM like Gundogan who they need for balance.

On CW podcast they make a point about him as part of a CM pairing like he did v Liverpool. Good point, however you failed to mention the lads got a bit of magic in front of goal about him and could actually play as a false no9 of need be. Silva is a better passer and thinker but Isco has a better touch and shot on goal, he also has colder blood infront of goal and picks his moments adeptly. I have never been so struck on a player as i am with Isco, for me, the lad is the heir to Iniesta, he is that good. But, and there is one, there must a problem in his attitude because when he isnt first choice he stinks, his Kroos substition faux shock was detestful to watch and that kind of undermining of a coach incenses me. Fortunately for him, Nasri future with us will come to an end, hes injury prone and underwhelming, one final payday contract left in him. Isco in, Nasri out, for a difference of 10m(?) is great business. Isco has fire in his belly and keen to make the most out of his career.

Finally, our business recently has been sublime, Otamendi 27 and everyone else 24 or less. #InTxikiWeTrust

Hasta luego
Great post. I'm hard.

Sorry, the summer before they got rid of Raul

Kaka (€68m, AC Milan), Raul Albiol (€15m, Valencia), Cristiano Ronaldo (€94m, Manchester United), Karim Benzema (€35m, Lyon), Esteban Granero (€4m, Getafe), Alvaro Arbeloa (€4m, Liverpool), Xabi Alonso (€32m, Liverpool)

Last summer was quiet enough.

Ta, mate. Glad you took the time to do it.

I always thought that Raul Albiol would go on to be a great player.

Zidane won't become manager mid season

Zidane will be delayed as long as possible because when Perez appoints him, suddenly he loses his biggest political play - blame the manager. Every time shit hits the fan, Perez changes manager.

If he bring s in a genuine club legend like Zidane, and things turn, the fans will be after Perez's head before Zidane.

He'd get eaten alive in the premier league playing alongside Fernandinho , he could play as a three but not a two

We don't play three in midfield though

Lol. Get eaten alive? He's beaten Barca and Atletico Madrid, and played in the CL in a midfield two, and when he's in a midfield three it's with James Rodriguez and Toni Kroos - two players with no defensive instincts at all.

I also remember how Fernandinho was a box to box/10 who we'd never be able to play next to Yaya because he wouldn't defend enough.

I'm not sure about that mate. A lot of the time he played centre mid for Madrid has been in a 2 with Modric.

I appreciate the PL is a lot more physical, but Fernandinho is a small and slight guy, he gets on ok. Fabregas was brilliant in a 2 last year, and while he's a bit bigger than Isco, it doesn't mean he's as aggressive or good in the tackle.

He did play in a 3 but it was with James and Kroos mostly - Isco was the ball winner and tackler in that 3.

Isco would be perfectly fine next to Fernandinho in the premier league.

so has the whole team pretty much though, the answer can't be lets spend a load of money again though. our attack when on form is the best in the league. if we buy isco who do you drop ?

New attacking option could be the perfect kick up the arse. Atm I'd give Silva and KDB some rest time. After that I'd drop whoever wasn't playing well. Simples.

Oh and it has been the attack that's been shite away from home, we've been fucking up at the front and letting the opposition stay in the match and even take the lead when they should be dead in the water.

Lovet this guy...top player but no idea what we would do with him or who we would drop....surely not kdb, silva or sterling based on ability and investment made in them.

what do you do when they come back though, isco would want to start every game, you aren't going to drop or rotate silva, de bruyne sterling. we never do rotate our best players. id much rather we developed our talent like roberts and nacho and give them a chance, if we buy someone like isco neither of them will play

For 30 million if true seems a great price, also already had his head turned by Real so if he kicks on less likely he would be enticed back.
I think it sounds like a summer signing, why move and be cup tied for the CL when you are with a team with a realistic chance of winning it. I can't see us
leaving Nasri out of the squad as would
kill all motivation to get fit. Would also start to get City a bad rep if we did this with players as also happened with
Jovetic.
Maybe he wants to have a real chance of playing for Spain in France later this year plus maybe he does not trust Benitez to be able to win the CL and even if he manages to do so, maybe he wouldn't feel any sense of entitlement having been second or third choice for much of the campaign.

It's a meritocracy. Besides, I think Isco could also play instead of both Yaya or Aguero as the situation demanded, the boy's a street footballer.

So we should expect to see the squad at around 6:30? or do they announce earlier in Spain?

I guess so. I'll keep an eye on Twitter. He hasn't started any of the last 5 league games and he was caught on camera taking the piss out of Benitez dropping Kroos last week so I wouldn't get excited if he's dropped from the squad - it could easily be for disciplinary reasons.

I wouldn't read too much into it if he's involved tonight. De Bruyne was continually selected whilst we were negotiating with Wolfsburg. Be better for us if he was on the bench rather than starting though.

Or perhaps more likely sterling could play up top and we could have silva Isco KDB behind him occasionally.

Also I think Silva's ankle is going to be a bigger and bigger problem as he gets older so he will miss more and more games because of it every year. 10 years of defenders leaving their foot in trying to stop him seems to have left its mark.
