Isco

Malaga’s sporting director has made clear that Isco will shortly be signing a new contract at the club, but refused to rule out his possible sale in the future.

The youngster has caught the eye this season and in recent months has both been linked with a number of European club and in talks with Malaga over an improved contract, for one thing to up his €21m buyout clause.

“Very soon we will be at a separate news conference presenting his renewal. If he has renewed it then he would be sitting here with us,” sporting director Mario Husillos told reporters this week.

“He soon will. He is a flag bearer of this club and wants to continue here. We understand that the signing of the contract is almost secured.

“Any subsequent sale? We are speaking of things that in football we cannot foresee. Life takes many turns. No, nothing had been hinted about Isco, Toulalan, Demichelis, nor is any player certain to stay.”

Husillos also commented that Malaga remain in the transfer market this winter, but that even he does not know for certain what will happen in the final few days of the window.

With Malaga's financial situation still unclear, it has been suggested that the reason for a new deal is to raise the player's release clause to around €40 million, to ensure cash-strapped Malaga make as much as possible from his sale. Husillos' comments look unlikely to dampen that talk.

Virtually doubled,if this is the case...

You can't blame Malaga for this. He will be going in the Summer and like LC has said it will not be cheap.

He's a good player but he's not worth more than 20M. Actually he doesn't look very good since second half of November... Too much too soon, I'd say.

Fuck this.

Well, I would still by him for around 25-30m, I don't think we need anyone else to improve our squad in the summer. Maybe just maybe a CM but we are already filled in that position and Barry doesn't deserve to be dropped so it's not a need.

The striker dilemma is another one. If we sell Tevey or/and Balo then we should sign one top striker, of course.

We will not sign a Striker this month even if we do sell Balotelli this month.

I thought it was clear that I'm talking about the summer business. :D

All the European clubs had months to trigger the release, and no one did. Maybe there isn't as much interest.
