Isco

It seems City's chance to sign Isco has come and gone. He is playing too well for Madrid to sell him and like Love City said, selling Isco would leave them a little short in attack. They were able to sell Ozil and Di Maria because Isco and James were solid replacements that were younger.

If Madrid were to sign another great attacker this summer, you would think that someone would angle for a move away from Madrid due to the lack of playing time.

As an aside, I think Illarramendi could leave Madrid due to a lack of playing time. City doesn't really need a DM but if he is cheap he could be a good signing long term.

last year they had bale, di maria, jese and ronaldo keeping isco out from the team most of the time. this seaon they have hames and ronaldo mostly fit, bale and jese have been out injured.

once they come back, isco will get less time. he might want to leave, and I think we should be in for him.

Scored a beauty yesterday. he'd be a potential upgrade on Nasri and we should be in for him regardless of whether we get Reus or not. he is better than all our players at dribbling and is quicker than all our wide options bar Navas. His first touch is also close to Silva's and he scores more goals

'potential'

He shits all over Nasri in ability, industry and attitude - a certain upgrade.

Because of those qualities,i cant see Real allowing him to leave though.

deliberately used that word so as not to antagonize pro Nasri blues.

you are correct...just look at the determination he demonstrated in the CL final v Athletico. cant see nasri doing that

Very charitable of you......however,why sugar coat it?

Nasri isn't good enough imo,we need an upgrade and Isco definitely fits the bill.Like i said though....I cant see it ever happening.

To the koke thread.....;-)

I agree that Nasri is not good enough for best XI. But I can see him as a squad player to be honest, because obviously cover is also needed.

It has to be someone else than Isco though, because I just can't see us getting him anytime soon. Ship has sailed.

Lopes in a year or two might be a much better (and cheaper) option than Nasri from the bench. Same with Pozo.

As far as established talents go, I can think of Isco, Reus, Sanchez and Di Maria who'd suit the wide attacking position. depending on their ambition and the position in which their respective sides finish this season, both Sanchez and Di maria might be itching for a move. Reus will move but I am slowly doubting he'd come to us, if we'd qualified for the knockout stages then sure, but we are about go go out for the 3rd time in 4 years and that isnt fulfilling anyones ambitions. isco is completely dependent on when Jese makes the return from injury and how fit bale, ronaldo and hames remain.

Real Madrid have Ronaldo, Benzema, James, Bale, Jese, and Isco for 4 attacking midfield/winger/striker spots so there might be some player or players getting less time than they would want but i would think that due to injury and squad rotation there should be enough minutes to go around to keep everyone happy.

That said, if Isco wasn't getting the playing time he wanted and demanded a transfer then City should absolutely be in for him as he is an incredible talent. I think he would be very expensive, like 50 milllion expensive, as Real know just how good he is.

Pellegrini dreams of pairing Isco with Yaya, Silva and Kun, and might try and sign him in January, although Madrid will probably refuse to sell

Isco is a top class player but he doesn't sort out our pace issues up front.

I would be looking at selling Yaya next summer in my opinion as well.
