Isco

Hi Guys,

New to bluemoon so be gentle!;) Really enjoyed following this thread the last 3days!! IMHO....Isco is a great talent and would have been an excellent signing but I do think that City are unwilling to pay the release clause(35mil euros) as they feel we are already covered at the position in silva and Nasir and that type of money might be better spent on a forward as it looks like Tevez might be going to Juventus, if you believe the reports of a meeting in manchester tomorrow.
I'm still hoping we have a chance with Isco but in my personal view, I think he's going to Real Madrid and we just need to trust we are already working on plan B...

As I person that stood outside maine road after we got beat by Luton Town (when we got relegated) shouting for the sacking of Swales..I'm really enjoying this time in our history...... GO CITY!!!!!!

Thanks again for all the comments,

@RafaelH117 Its bizarre, that's why I think there is more to come. I want this guy at City more than anyone.

@coolandthegangs Yes, what I can guarantee is that Isco hasn't sign with RMA yet, only agreed terms and signing without a counter bid.

Rafael Hernández ‏@RafaelH117 31m

@adlan_suzanne Nope, I said he was set to join after the U21s, MCFC lowered the bid, Real Madrid took their chances, that's what I said.

@adlan_suzanne Still, MCFC can still sign Isco, but club unwilling to pay the release clause. Málaga Owner favors selling the player to other spanish club.

If this is true then it makes you wonder what the f**k City are playing at.

Oh don't get me wrong, fernandinho is a good signing, and I didn't mind overpaying by 5 or so million. But 4th best attacking mid ? Come on really , in 3 or 4 years hel be the best attacking in the squad, comfortably.

He has the tools but Silva injury free and in his pomp is up there pushing Xavi and Iniesta, he is simply sublime. Isco will do well to 'better' him.

Ha ha laughable Silva was fuckin garbage last year

He certainly wasn't on form or anywhere near it. He was burned out, played out of position (his best is through the middle rather than to the left). The season before I base my judgement as that's the player he is imho.

Garbage? Bit harsh, he buys and sells anyone over the road ;)

Here's an idea, and it's pretty crazy, but maybe City havent met the release clause as they don't think it's worth spending that much money on an area of the team that doesn't need strengthening, and might prefer to spend it elsewhere now that the team adheres to FFP rules

Crazy, I know.

What a saga this is turning out to be!
We've had all the emotions ( often on the same page!) it's been very revealing, and not to mention entertaining!
Personally, I've resigned myself to the fact that he's going to Madrid, as Cavani said, when Madrid come knocking, you take notice!
I think our main target should be a striker, since Mario left we haven't replaced him, and with Aguero getting injured it left us underpowered upfront last season.
If Manny can get Nasri playing to the top of his game regularly, I don't think missing out on Isco will be such an issue, Navas and Fenandinho were the must have transfers, Isco would have been the icing on the cake! I know it's not over until Perez is shouting it from the rooftops, but I'm far, far more optimistic about next season now, if Isco comes, great! if not, well, we move on!
1st post and a good one

It's hard to say how long it will take Isco to fulfil his potential. I suspect you are right, in terms of next season a striker is more important - but maybe we can get both.

It's very exciting to be so close to signing Isco as I think in 2-3 seasons, if he plays regularly he could be one of the top 5 players in Europe. He's the cream of the young Spanish players which is no secret

Maybe he will go to Real Madrid but at the moment I think it's still up in the air. if a deal can be done which will benefit City (taking all into account) then I am sure it will be done

Things stay the same, Isco wants MCFC, agreed terms with both teams, but Málaga only has a deal with Real Madrid

if this is true why the fuck we don't want to pay another milions to get him????????????????????????WHY???????????????????????? someone need to responde for that if it's true
Totally baffling if true,
All part of negotiations

I thought we couldn't talk to the player until terms agreed with club, but that doesn't seem to have happened here.

Appears that if we want Isco enough, then we can get him

But if you were the transfer negotiator you have to bear in mind what our budget is, and what other targets we have. We don't really need Isco as far as next season is concerned (I don't believe he is better than what we have now - it's his potential in years to come) and we certainly need a striker.

Get real ( pardon the pun ) - we desperately need a goal scoring playmaker.
How many goals do Silva Yaya Nasri Barry Milner etc. score in a season. The answer is too few.

You have to say, next season looks like it may be a massive opportunity for Samir Nasri, that I personally didn't think he was going to get.

For those old enough to recall, Isco is basically the Spanish version of the Arthur Numan saga.

(Except we've got a few bob now)

God I remember that one, remember it dragging on for ages and my mates brother picking us up from the airport telling us he'd signed for Rangers. (Arthur Numan, not my mates brother).

Didn't we end up with Ricky Holden instead?

I think it was the same year. Rick H played in the same team over here as Richards30.
I thought the Dutch players union threw their toys out of the pram wanting him to stay in Holland. So he signed for Eindhoven; he signed for Rangers much later. Reid was in charge when we tried to sign him.

Not crazy at all, or perhaps they don't think he is worth that much, it's hard getting some people to understand, if they want a player they will pay the price, but they will not overpay, far to many people playing fantasy football

No he wasn't awful. Define awful please!

Would it be allowed or legal or whatever for Malaga to accept a fee from Madrid but refuse the same fee from us and demand higher, out of interest.

Guess it wouldn't be allowed in general retail (which I know this is nothing like)
