I'm not worried by the new "development" that Madrid have agreed a fee.

Isco said himself that both City and Madrid have made concrete offers so I'm sure our bid has been accepted as well.

I'm still reasonably confident.

However, if he does go to Madrid, we have been made to look like fools again. Eto'o, Sanchez, Hazard, Cavani. We spend months trying to tie up these deals and then end up missing out at the last minute. I know it's difficult signing world class players because everyone wants them, but I would have thought that City would gauge a players playing preference before embarking on a 6 month transfer saga.

How the hell do we 'look fools again'? He's chosen Real over City! We all need to remember we are not Real or Barca or United. It will take a long time to get anywhere near them.

Come on mate. Don't put the rags in the same sentence as Real and Barca. They're a stockmarket blip away from financial meltdown. One of the clauses in the bond sale was that if they failed to qualify for the CL, the investors can ask for their money back in full. You can't just magic up £500m.

Can you back that up I'd love to use that as ammunition against rag fans

Why? Di Maria is a decent alternative. We can't stop Isco doing what he wants and if that's joining Madrid so be it.

We set our sights on Isco and Isco is what we want. Why should we settle for another player that we don't even want?

Can't always have what u want can u tho mate? How do u know Di Maria isn't wanted been plenty of reports to suggest Pellegrini would be interested.

No you can't always have what you want, but surely we don't want a team of alternatives?

Only put 40 on all together but stand to make 55 profit + stake back. If Cavani comes I will make 200 in total give or take a fiver. Plus stakes. If Cavani goes to Madrid I cover my bets and lose just 20. My best hope is Isco to us, Cavani to us, Dzeko to Napoli and Crouch to QPR. Over 300 profit.

Who knows? Real are an absolute giant and the day a player chooses us over them is certainly going to be a big day. I just wonder if all the articles that came out last night are a defence mechanism for real. In other words, they say they've agreed a deal so as not to lose face and then say "city offered silly money". It's very rare that Madrid or Barcelona ever have to fight for a player and it's usually reported widely that a certain player will sign for them well before the move happens. That isn't the case with this transfer and i'm pretty sure isco is coming here.

As others have said, the stories coming out of Spain are just an attempt to pressure the lad. If they were confident he was signed why not just be silent and let the player announce it, bit classier that way. In any event we will find out soon enough; last time I witnessed so many foaming fannies was on a holiday to Florida during spring break in 2002 ;)

With such a sensitive market betting at 7/4 in a 2 horse race represents a lot of value, one positive report on City agreeing a fee, or similar and the pendulum swings the other way. Like all bets, you win some and lose some, but you could easily see a swing and back Madrid tomorrow guaranteeing yourself profit, if you haven't done so already in previous days when they stretched to 7/2.

Imo Mata, Cazorla, Silva, Michu and Torres have shown the moves to UK work. He's behind Ronaldo and Paul for spaces and would have to bide time or play out on the right v Di Maria for game time. City cry out fir left sided player, have a manager that's been key to his progress and have Spanish players here for him to fit in. Its a great value bet with good chance of happening.

Yeah guess you're right there, it's just frustrating that it could possibly be Cavani AND Isco that we miss out on.
