I think it is now definitely time to put Madrid in their place. forget the peace pact, that only benefitted them because for the first time they aren't able just to control players and the market the corrupt way they have for years gone by! we get isco then its a huge huge statement!
We will have a valuation we have put on Isco, lets say it's £30m for arguments sake. We'll offer that much in one way or another, and we'll be willing to change the method by which Malaga get their £30m, installments, a bigger upfront payment, add-ons for achievements etc. However, if Real value him at £40m for example, and they are willing to pay that, then we won't be simply outbidding them to get the player. We'll move on and look at alternatives. This isn't Fantasy Football, or Football Manager, we're talking about extremely shrewd business men here. The days where we overpaid in terms of transfer fees and wages are gone, we don't need to do that now to attract the right calibre of player. We've established a reputation now as a side who can win major trophies, one which will be chanllenging annually for such trophies, and one which will be qualifying for Europe's top competitions. We can pay the right price, and hand out the right wages, on the right players. We won't get all our targets, but then no-one does, we need to stick to our guns and only pay what we believe is the right value.

Delusional horseshit I'm afraid.

Even as a Mancunian I'm not blinkered enogh to think that Manchester is in anyway an attractive destination for most Europeans. A grey miserable city (that I happen to love) but wouldn't expect may no mancs to fee the same about.

Then you have the fact that Madrid are the pinnacle in world football I believe this to be fact, not opinon, magnificent stadium, unrivaled history etc and thats before you look at the fact that it's a lovely city with an infinitely more pleasant climate.

When competing against Madrid you'll nearly always lose if you try to do so on a level playing field, when do they not get a player they're after? I'm sure there are examples but not often.

If we really want the lad then we should out muscle them

Our reputation is not as high as it was last summer. IMO as a club we thought we had "made it" after winning the PL. Last summer we failed to improve our squad and paid the price.
Are we too inflexible with our decision making in player recruitment? Frequently when there is competition in a transfer, we seem to lose out.
Did the market value of Isco go up after his MoTM performances in the U21's? RM seemed to re-value Isco, did we?

Neither of you know what City are willing to pay.

There is no reason to assume it is less than Madrid are willing to pay.
It appears we are consistently losing out on our targets, when there is competition from other clubs.
Hopefully we can get him, but getting less optimistic.

It doesn't appear anything of the sort.

very good comment pre u21.. we had him... should have been pre contract etc.. or post dated contract.. whatever.. we had him and missed putting him in a keep net

Couldn't be any more wrong if you tried

You still confident mate? Heard anything since yesterday about what is happening today?

Very confident mate. Nothing new at all. It's gone insanely quiet all of a sudden. I know the talks went well and Isco is more than keen. All agreed with Malaga. Just the waiting game now mate.

Has this thread moved on another 100 pages since last night already?

Re: Isco (Part 8 (weekend saga part 3))

What are the bets that if Isco signs he mentions the 'great holistic project' that the club have!!!

Re: Isco (Part 8 (weekend saga part 3))

So is it definitely all over then?. This is
fucking ridiculous, and i bet even Isco
doesn't know where he's going yet.
Maybe I'll have to have another bet.
