Islam again.

I say send her back to where she came from. The Muslims can stay, they're alright by me.

Even these lunatics? The fact that they're Muslims doesn't matter. Anyone who hates the UK, "UK go to hell" can go and find somewhere else to live.

I don't want anybody being chucked out of the country on the basis of something they say. We have freedom of speech and that's far more important to me than a few crazies. You don't have to like the UK to live here and you can't coerce people into liking it. It helps, sure, but you can't force people, that's what fascist dictatorships do.

If they have the right to be here, they can stay if they want to stay, they can go if they want to go. Clearly these people want to stay, that's why they're here, in spite of whatever garbage they're spouting.

What's really wrong with saying "UK go to hell" anyway? Think about it. What will happen as a result of them saying that? Absolutely nothing. So let's not get too bothered over it. They're just a bunch of extreme individuals who are throwing out statements they know will upset people in order to get publicity, if you get upset about it then they've effectively won haven't they?

I agree completely with what you said. And it doesn't upset me, not really. It's a laughable chant but if they whole-heartedly believe that the UK is worthy of burning in hell, or whatever I think we should facilitate their departure. If someone says "I hate the UK" what do you say back? "Fucking leave then."

More to the point, I share their apparent dislike for Stacey Dooley.

Where did she come from before she got all these BBC3 programmes? She seems to have little working knowledge of the stories she reports on, constantly gives arguments a sense of false balance, her 'investigative journalism' is just like her own personal soapbox and most of all she comes across as fundamentally unlikable and whiny.

I say send her back to where she came from. The Muslims can stay, they're alright by me.

In answer to your question Paphos, most people in the UK (younger people at least) will have friends who are Muslims or from a Muslim background. If you have the benefit of that experience, then you'll know they aren't some singular amorphous blob of scary foreigners. Their opinions on issues vary vastly from person to person, but rather than take each individual on their merits it's much easier for some to slap the label 'Muslim' on them and call them all evil and say we should get rid of them. Many people can't seem to get by in life until they've categorised everybody into neat little boxes.

I lose no sleep over this minority of people with extreme views. I think I'm more worried by the amount of influence the media has over people's opinions on issues like immigration and human rights. Alas it was ever thus.

Best post in thread.

Yep she was the biggest nutjob there

Hope you're ok mate. Yeah, I have Muslim friends and to me they are decent, ordinary people. A couple over the northern side of Cyprus too. I've been out of the country for 10 years and before that as far as I can remember, none of these protests ever happened. The only mither was when Wilmslow Rd was closed for Eid, but hey, let them have their fun. Sure the protestors aren't causing any harm, everyone has free right. It just struck a nerve about the bloke forcing his religious opinion on that woman. I know there are a lot more people like him, and for me, he can fuck off.

As I said to Skash before, I wonder what your everyday normal working, praying Muslim would think of these protestors?

I'm doing pretty well thanks mate and I agree that anybody trying to force their beliefs on people are in the wrong. Obviously, we're not going to be influenced by his opinions but others well might be and that's part of the problem. Fair to say that I don't think this is exclusively a problem of Islam, though it is how a lot of these extremist views are bred into people.

I've always been a firm believer that the best way to combat all extremism is with open debate and education in a wider forum. Allowing that section of the community to become isolated through this 'us and them' mentality has caused their discussions to become insular and self-reinforcing. We need to improve communication between cultures throughout our country, though I think as the generations pass, this is something that will naturally improve.

If Scotland gains its independence, can we deport them (the protestors, not the sweatys; then again....)? Let them have their march down Sauchiehall Street at chucking out time on the night before an old firm game. I can see the questions now; ''are you a fenian/hun muslim?''

They are free to say 'burn in Hell, disbelievers go to Hell' etc. They're also free to fuck off somewhere like Iraq if it makes them happier.

I wish this was more socially acceptable to say out loud in society

Are they free to fuck off to Iraq though?

Does Iraq not have an immigration policy to stop nasty foreigners turning up by the boat load?

You have free speech within the law.

If what was said in the video was deemed contrary to the law they would have been arrested.

Whats socially acceptable depends on your peers. If i was to have a tirade against "wogs" or "pakis" within my group of my friends i would be a social outcast.

Find your own boundaries.

I dont like the UK, i think its shit and a lot of the people in it are wankers. The weather is shit, the city centers are shit and, before anyone brings it up as a great thing about the UK, the countryside is shit. I get away with it though because im not brown or a Muslim

There will be a civil war sooner rather than later.

There probably won't though will there?

Probably maybe.

I wouldn't go as far a civil war, but if reports are true that many fighters from Iraq/Syria are returning then it's not a positive thing for our country is it? God knows how many more uk Muslims are being radicalised. Terrorists plotting attacks in England scares the shit out of me.

I feel sorry for that girl in the video, her home town has been over taken by Muslims who hate Britain, what a lovely place to live. The chant of uk burn doesn't really bother me, in reality it's humorous from my point of view. I wonder how many of them protestors have benefitted from an English lifestyle, I would guess the majority.

There really will not dude. I could write a page on how wrong your are mate. Having grown up a muslim in the UK I can tell you people like this have been around for a long time. Most of us, my family, friends, relatives almost every muslim I know hate these extremists and find the things they are doing shocking just like every normal person.
I will sit down sometime and write properly about these sort of people I have encountered over the years (for example I went to college with the brother of Kabir Ahmed who is the terrorist fighting in Syria)

You should write on here Ade, because it seems to me the anti-Islam rhetoric about at the moment is really succeeding at putting doubts into many people's minds. What people seem to want here is for the average Muslim to be seen to be speaking out against the poisonous minority of extremists.

Then people such as yourself are in a great position to put a stop to this before it gets out of hand. Doing nothing is not an option, history shows it only takes a few extremists to get the ball rolling, Germany, China, Russia.......

The anti Islamic rhetoric is working because not enough of the 'majority' of good Muslims are doing anything about the fucking nutters. Have you seen a few hundred thousand Muslims marching to say that the extremists are wrong, and they won't stand for another beheading, as well as thousands of fellow muslims being killed? No, I haven't either. I read the odd article, and see the odd bloke/woman on telly saying that the extremists are wrong, but not in any great numbers.

There is so much hatred with the extremists that the decent Muslims are probably shit scared to march against them, as they've proven time and again that killing their own means fuck all to them as well.

As for Ade, you can post what you want, but as long as fellow Muslims are sawing journalists heads off, and slaughtering fellow Muslims, you aren't going to make many inroads.
