Yep, that's Monsieur Onions to the right of the Stuart Pearce haircut boy, Nelly ! Other lads on the pic include Bimbo and Webby.....That Frank Sidebottom gig was summat else.

Can't recollect any hassle during the weekend.

Some good stories there. I didn't make this trip as I didn't have a pot to piss in at the time. Some of my mates went, however, but because they only booked late all the spaces on City's official trip were filled so they had to book on with Oldham's official trip instead!

the same lad who had fuck all on outside the quid bar also did a streak at the game if if i remember right?
me and my mate had a blow up doll and impressed the local wenches on the beach that day. ive still got the pics somwhere

The "kill the cheese" campaign suggests that the 'turn wembley blue' and 'curly wigs for wembley' brigade read this thread and remember who you are fucking representing

I've been rumbled!

Plenty of pictures from this that I can post. Took a flight to get over to this one. The team were on the same flight. Good times.

The Quids Inn pub was ace, went in thru a turnstile and there was a guy with a refs shirt and whistle, any messing about and you got a yellow card, anymore and you got a red and had to leave, all the pub shouting "off off offf!!!!".

Thanks for posting this. Brought back a fair few good memories. The 2 guys doing a lap on the athletics track round the pitch with one of them in just a motorbike helmet is one of the funniest things I think I've ever seen at a game.

Seem to recall that one of the pubs was run by a former page 3 girl. For some reason it was quite popular with the lads!

quid in the turnstile and a quid a pint! result!

what a trip,i stayed in the hotel with the casino and my mate john ryan was in a b&b at the back, glorious sun, everyone pissed at the quarterbridge pub near the ground and will never forget the guy with a viking hat on with pigtails and a blow up doll.!!
Game was shite, back in the quids inn then we went to Brubakers nightclub where i had a great night with a local lady, lol.
Apparently the local plod were not happy with some lads squirting the locals allday with blaster water pistols, one of the reasons we were not asked back.
Top,top trip, got pics somewhere with a manx coppers helmet on

good god 30 years ! ...... i took the wife and the kids , great little break

City took over Douglas

i was at both games, close to half time i needed a piss so went off to the toilets that were in the same block behind the goal as the changing rooms

as i came out of the toilets the players were trooping off at half time

the look on steve mcmahons face as he walked past me with my black / red shirt on ( same as City were playing in ) but with my viking helmet and long ginger wig was a sight to behold !

Last time I went to the IOM was 73,that awful week with the fire at Summerlands complex was in the night before I was so lucky.50 people died that night they said 3,000 were in that night it had pubs and a club hugh building but made from that plastic stuff that just went up.

Me and my cousin were in there until about 2 hours before the fire started and were just a few hundred yards away when it went up, I was amazed that the death toll wasn't in the hundreds given how quickly the fire spread.

Brilliant thread. this is one thing that unfortunately nowadays, our new owners have slowly destroyed. ( probably all top flight clubs ). Supporting City is not just 90 minutes, (or 80). It was every day of the week. Mates, laughs, football, memories of days or full weekends. Trips away, beer and living life. Glad i was of an age to live it.

Remember the 85 trip here's a picture I took from on the Ferry on way back , great trip
