Israel-Palestine Conflict

You don’t need to be a military expert to foresee this…

Who knew that collective punishment of a civilian population—including intentional malnutrition/starvation of an entire population, mass (continual) forced displacement, intentional denial of adequate medical care, near complete destruction of what was already limited civilian infrastructure, razing of a majority of housing and social service facilities, mass murder of non-combatant women and children, torture of (in some cases, illegally held) prisoners, increasing illegal annexation of land and confiscation of property, and emboldened calls from high officers of government for the extermination of the ethnic group suffering all of this—would radicalise young men and women against the forces carrying it out?

Yes, the idea that Israel will destroy Hamas is ludicrous. Their actions will create a whole new cadre of terrorists for generations to come. It is hard to believe Netanyahu really thinks he can destroy Hamas, rather than he is intent on driving the Palestinians out.

Netanyahu is (and has always been) a far-right, hateful, Machiavellian ****. He has now also become a spineless puppet. But he is not stupid—though, many members of the far-right regime are.

This was never really about destroying Hamas or getting the hostages back. He knew Israel was never going to be able to eliminate Hamas (or a similar militant terrorist organisation) via military operations, much less through scorched earth warfare. I said this from the moment Netanyahu proclaimed Israeli government intentions with the response to the 7 October attacks.

This was always primarily about achieving a “solution” to the “Palestinian problem”, as his Kahanist ministers have said many times, and remaining in power.

Whether Netanyahu and co directly or indirectly welcomed the horrific 7 October attacks or were genuinely taken completely off guard by them despite numerous warnings from various entities leading up to the brutal rampage, he and his cronies (and now handlers) immediately jumped upon it as an opportunity to deflect accountability and consequence for all of their corruption and deep unpopularity in Israel, and enact their vision for a restored Israel from the river to the sea, with not a single concern given for Palestinians in the Strip or the West Bank, or the ramifications of expanding presence in Jerusalem.

This is their twisted, genocidal wet dream, just as the destruction of Israel and the extermination of Jews as a people is Hamas’ sick fantasy.

To be clear, I am talking about Netanyahu and the far-right regime (including elements of the military and intelligence services), not the entire population of Israel. But there is a frighteningly large cohort within Israel that fully support the regimes actions and rhetoric.

And that should be a grave concern for everyone, Jew or gentile. As they have made Israel in to a rogue state, carrying out injustices and atrocities on an even larger scale than that of Hamas, PIJ, and Hezbollah at this point (almost entirely because they have the resources to do it; it is important to emphasise that Hamas and others would absolutely do this to Israel if they could).

But those claiming there is no equivalence of what Netanyahu far-right regime is doing in Gaza and the West Bank now to what Hamas did on 7 October or before are being exceedingly intellectually dishonest.

They all need to go, but I don’t see how that happens, unfortunately.

Right now, Israel is hurtling toward a state of perpetual war. Which tragically suits the likes of Haniyeh, al-Nakhalah, Nasrallah, Sinwar, Netanyahu, Ben Gvir, Smotrich, Gallant, and others just fine.

Three British prime ministers—Thatcher, Major and Blair showed what a democracy ought to do. All had back channel negotiations with the IRA which continued for years and culminated in the Good Friday Agreement. Not perfect but it has been largely successful and has helped heal the rift with the Republic.
Israel/Palestine is a much more complex problem but that requires renewed efforts at rapprochement, not military might.

Netanyahu was never there to destroy Hamas, always been about elimination of the state of Palestine and its people. He and the Zionists have lost.

I am interested in people's views on this.

Just been reading about this on another forum. Apparently the translation is maliciously all wrong. Remember the BBC with their malicious translations a few months ago? Some of these are not ordinary women, they are captured soldiers. There was no actual, or threat of, rape once properly translated.
