Istanbul | It’s been a blast - Thank You!

I hope everyone gets home safe and sound. It sounds like most Blues had a good time in Istanbul topped off with winning the Big Ears. I didn’t go and I don’t regret it because I despise iUEFA. I was overjoyed with the win for all the travelling Blues, players and management. I celebrated so hard that I think I’ve broken my foot. I didn’t feel the pain until the hangover wore off lol.

Just one observation on a few of the comments. Getting circa 70k pissed up football fans in town is going to encourage pick pockets from all over Turkey and maybe beyond. That’s different than some of the comments seemingly aimed at some Turkish people for being poor. There’s plenty of skint people here too and go a few streets off tue Ramblas or Wenceslas Square and you will find poorer areas where drink is more affordable.

Yes I’ve spent a week before in Istanbul. Some of they time was spent with rich business owners but a lot of the time was spent discovering the tourist areas and back streets. Istanbul is more interesting than most places IMHO.

i agree. if you have money, and live in a good region (KADIKOY, bagdat sreet region) i believe ist is the best place on earth...
cheers
thank you all for those great days you created
I have has the privilege to go many times, incredible culture and very much a place where East meets West.

The Bosphorus is incredible, along with numerous historical sights.

Amazing trip with amazing people but not sure I’ll be in a rush to go on that overnight train from Sofia again or be in a hurry to go back to Istanbul.
Unbelievable memories though and never thought I’d be watching my team win the European Cup and the treble

Flight cancelled last night. Rearranged for 4am tomorrow. 9 of us put up in a hotel by easy jet all expenses covered. Hit the strip last night and just out again on the piss

Gonna buy some £4 swimming shorts and watch the parade on the internet sat by the pool later

It’s a fucking hard life being the champions of Europe

First impressions weren't great, but that was probably down to weariness after a long flight and coach transfer. Grew to love the place though, and had an amazing weekend. All the locals I encountered were really friendly and helpful. Bit of a nightmare getting anywhere by road, but the underground was fine. Only real complaints were about UEFA's shambolic organisation rather than the place itself.
