It’s Quiet 20 - What is the Wirtz that could happen?

difference is Bayern will pay up - they will pay the money they want and will get him at an agreed price.
bayern are the best German team - and a key to being in the national team (Leroy Sane anyone) - Gernam nationals know this and want to go there. He will push for this as will his father.....

we could even offer more money (and may well do) in terms of pay packet and he would still go there.
Technically not always true either because they didn’t pay up when chasing KDB from Wolfsburg either. Again it’s all circumstancial. Word is that Bayern wants Wirtz next season and not this one.

That time Munich refused to pay more than 40-50M for players. Times have changed also Wirtz is German. They always dreamed about an „ FC DEUTSCHLAND“. Wirtz and Musiala would be like hitting a 100M jackpot for them. Don’t think they compliment each other well but they won’t care at the top.

I’ve never seen Cambiaso have a good game. My last viewing of him was in a 4-0 home defeat to Atalanta.

Really hoping it’s someone else that we get.
dont mind his profile, would prefer a RB than play left though, than the other way round.

Re Wirtz
If one party (us) is being strung along solely to improve a deal with another party (Bayern), it's sometimes referred to as "being used as a stalking horse." This means the negotiator is engaging with one party (us) not to finalize a deal but to pressure another party (Bayern) into offering better terms.

Re 2nd striker
Any reasonably successful season means we play 60 games, if you include Norway"s games then anyone can see we MUST have at least one "second' striker. In fact I wouldn't use that term any more it undervalues the importance of the role. That's not even thinking the unthinkable, a serious injury to Erling. imho Muamba's not ready for the PL, not sure about him anyways, looks a bit 'clumsy', but he may prove me wrong. If we don't do something about this we could end up repeating the Rodri blunder, the one that many us were warning about. Sometimes I think the club don't actually read these pages.

Re Full backs
Left and Right are absolutely vital, but after yesterday's presser it looks like Stones, Akanji, Ake are going nowheres, so these and Gvardiol will be our FBs next year. Personally, I find it so fucking infuriating that we just can't be normal and buy full backs.

I guess we will see but all the noise points to him going to Bayern....just city aggregators desperate for clicks pushing the idea imho

As I said before...the main issue is that Wirtz wants Bayern and we know they want him....thats pretty much a slam dunk - we will have to blow them out the water with an offer to top that

reckon you are spot on on the Wirtz part

If we 'force' Bayern to pay a higher price then I suppose there's some upside to being the stalking horse. On squad planning, I hope Hugo and Ferna (sounds like a brand) have Pep's ear. The squad is overloaded now with central defenders (Stones, Ake, Akanji, Dias, Khusanov, Reis, JSP plus Bah, Doyle, Mbete etc on loan) and with midfielders/wingers. At the same time we have one striker and no full backs. Sometimes I think Pep is bat shit crazy, let's hope this summer sees a more strategic and balanced approach to transfers.

Stones and Ake need to be sold if possible...great players but cannt be relied upon to be able to play
JSP doesnt look upto standard and Bah will probably go out on loan...Reis is also still developing though will probably stay around the first team
Doyle aint making it here and Mbete aint getting anywhere either at present.
McAtee is 50/50 - hasnt managed to show yet he can make that step up (I really thought he would tbh)

What we need is central midfielders and a right back and or left back

Out: Stones, Ake, KDB, Gundo and Grealish of the starting 11 for starters. Add Nunes into that list as well - 6 big players that need to be replaced and the two most needed are the two central midfield spots -we already have started the defensive replacement with Khusonov already looking like a prem player

I think it will be a relatively quite summer by all accounts.. I may have dreamt this but I sense Pep is only expecting Kevin to leave..

Stones and Ake won't be sold, they won't be first choice but we need very good back up centre backs and Stones and Ake are very good back up centre backs. As you say we will concentrate on midfield, full back this summer and keeper if we have to.

can only see Ederson, Grealish and Philips leaving. I think KDB, Stones, Bernardo and Gundogan will stay for another last year. The club would only need to buy 3 players this season then and the same amount next season .

Leverkusen will not sell to Bayern. The quoted price to Bayern in Germany is 150 million euros and they want bonuses.

Leverkusen hate Bayern more than any other team in the Bundesliga. Their chairman attacked Bayern last season in an interview for BILD.

Rumours from Leverkusen is that they’d sell outside Germany for 100 to 120 million euros if they can’t agree a contract extension.
