Hence my point, it’s a results business and if Muller scored and they went on to win that game and then this tournament they’d suddenly be rated. They have a squad full of Bayern players and 3 champions league winners. They controlled the game against France and demolished Portugal, they might not be what they were when they won the World Cup but they’re still a very good team.

If you want to build up other teams to make England look more impressive or as an excuse for a future defeat knock yourself out.

We ain't nowhere near shit but how good we are is currently unproven. I'm not sure when judging the strength of the opposition became irrelevant.

Look up the pre tournament rankings and see how many above us we have played and how many are left in it. The footballing gods have been very much in our favour both last tournament and especially this. You have to take advantage of these opportunities. On balance I hope we win but its not a burning desire. I don't think the FA pick the team or that waistcoat excludes players for any other reason than his own fear and negativity tactically. If he beats Italy then the team have done well and I would happily describe them as a good team.

Some of you can't separate unjustified slagging off with balanced opinion anymore.

If England win on Sunday, which I believe they will as I forget about the goalkeeper, they will be Champions of Europe and the fixtures completed will be of little relevance. Moving forward the talent at the managers disposal is only going to improve in the short term and a good shot at the World Cup seems likely. Would GS be a success at a top English or European club I think maybe not but he has regardless of the result on Sunday done very well as England coach and deserves some credit.

It ain’t about building other sides up to make England look better. It’s the complete opposite, people knock other sides to discredit England as for whatever reason some people just don’t want them to do well.

If England had Italy’s route the narrative would be “easiest group in the tournament, should have been knocked out by a shit Austria, only beat Belgium because Hazard and KDB were injured, if Spain had a striker they’d be out”

England aren’t anywhere near the best team in the world but just like City in a few recent cup competitions they’ve comfortably dispatched what’s been in front of them.
