It's Almost Getting Beyond A Joke

in carnoustie which is about 70 miles from edinburgh, where i live. i listened to the match on the radio on the way back and it was bloody awful. that good enough for you? the fact is i get down to games when i can and watch almost all of them.

lol this was the one which really got me. You can just imagine the smug prick packing his golf clubs into the boot of his car and thinking "will listen to my team City smash those scouse bastards on the way home - and dinner better be fecking ready on time or she is in for it - in for it"

What was really awful, the game or the commentary? I'm willing to bet he had 5-live on because Alan Green and Robbie Savage were absolutely slating both sides throughout.

Personally thought it was a fascinating 'chess-match' type of contest with neither side willing to gamble too much and concede ground which is fair enough given the situation at the top of the table right now, a draw was also a fair result imho
and sets up the run-in quite nicely. Both squads cannot now be changed or improved so its a case of the best team wins the CL spot as the top 3 look set firm. I'm not writing off Spurs or Villa but I honestly believe that it will be City or Liverpool for 4th place and have felt that way for a while now as both sides have those big game players who can turn a game in the blink of an eye.

I think that Liverpool have the better run-in (on paper) but City have the chance to beat Spurs and Villa at home toward the end of the season and deal their CL hopes a potentially fatal blow. I think it will come down to City or Liverpool ultimately and City will have to do it the hard way looking at their last 4 fixtures -

Man Utd (h) Arsenal (a) Villa (h) West Ham (a)

Liverpool's last 4 is -

West Ham (h) Burnley (a) Chelsea (h) Hull (a)

It could be a very interesting climax to the season if things stay the same until then, can't really see much daylight between the two so hold on to your hats, it should be a hell of a ride .......

Thought it was a decent performance on our part. Needed to create more chances in order to win the game obviously.

I feel that this will be moved to the classic threads, unfortunately for the OP. :|

well i left my flat at half nine this morning in edinburgh to drive the 200+ miles to watch that,

and we did alright, no complaints

and then drove the 200+ miles back again

i could have played golf, but you know, city were at home.......

I've got a horrible day tommorrow, not looking forward to it at all but mancityscot clueless ramblings have cheered me right up.

Thanks mate!

I think mancityscot is getting an undeserved hard time here.

And it's not nice.

Some of his OP had some good points.

No. Was in West Stand level 3 (bloody pricey but great view).

It's just that I think the OP had some good points, yet it was clouded by the fact that he wasn't there. The OP did say he had watched the previous 6 or 7 games, so I think he was talking about the bigger picture.

The only bit he has right is about Ireland.

To say we are a joke and a laughing stock is laughable. Has he been playing golf whilst we are playing for the last 20 years? What the fuck have we done to become a laughing stock?

No, we aren't a laughing stock or a joke, but I think that was a kneejerk reactionary comment to an afternoon that clearly pissed him off (for whatever reason....maybe he missed a birdie or something).

However, his comments about Villa and Spurs were exactly what I have been thinking.
