It's Almost Getting Beyond A Joke

The only bit he has right is about Ireland.

To say we are a joke and a laughing stock is laughable. Has he been playing golf whilst we are playing for the last 20 years? What the fuck have we done to become a laughing stock?

No, we aren't a laughing stock or a joke, but I think that was a kneejerk reactionary comment to an afternoon that clearly pissed him off (for whatever reason....maybe he missed a birdie or something).

However, his comments about Villa and Spurs were exactly what I have been thinking.

Theres a difference though, Redknapp and O'Neill have been there long enough to build a side how they want. Mancini has been here two months.

Agreed, and emphasises the point I think he was trying to make. That they are better placed than us to mount a better challenge in the run in.

Not agreeing with him per se, but I do understand what he was pointing out.

And then all the ridicule started and his comments got kind of lost..

He got ridiculed Macca because of comments like these

i'm sick of it. we are beginning to look like a team that is definitely there for the taking from any team
Funny that, and i thought our defence had tightend up alot since he came in and we now look like a team that will hardley concede.

and you can see that they [Villa and Spurs] take the games by the scruff of the neck and can convincingly win against lower teams, something we find exceptionally hard to do.
Except for Wolves, Blackburn and Bolton and Pompey? or is he talking about that ONE defeat against a lower team called Hull?

as we have had our chance against the easier teams and haven't been able to beat them.

i'm not convinced Mancini has the slightest of clues how to handle the english game at all.
He's handling it pretty well so far, where in the league are we?

i have no confidence in going into a game with 200MILLION POUNDS WORTH OF PLAYERS and thinking that we will convincingly win let alone win 4 or 5 nil.
In his warped mind £200m on players = easy 4/5-0 wins.

Mancini's tactics are shit and he hasnt got a clue at all.
I'm not even going to say anything about that.

That is why he was ridiculed and that is without the whole "we played shit, we are a joke and a laughing stock......but i was playing golf at the time"

Still don't think his entire post was worth such ridicule IP.

Maybe I am just a softie.

Im not gonna go on about the OPs post cos some people have said it already but something is seriously wrong with alot of fans perspective at the minute.

I know weve spent alot recently but your making youselves and unfortunately all of us look really stupid with your expectacy levels. Get real, football is a team game and gelling a team in all departments so it works as one it something money cant fix in an instant. History shows this with every successful club!

I was getting really pee'd off with some of fans today, and I think we were a disappointment.

Started off with some idiot below me talking to his mate saying: "everton yesterday, liverpool will do us today, mersyside beat manchester headline's on the cards" WTF! then goes on to say he wasnt goin stoke cos even if we get past them we wont beat chelsea. This is an issue thats rooted within alot of our fans and it needs to be shaken before we turn into spoilt bleeding rags.

Pull apart tatics and performances in the pub later but come on lets get behind our team!! If we dont make 4th well make top 6 and if we dont win the FA cup we'll have a go next year but what a ride were having and the FUTURE has never looked so good. and thats priceless

you prick. go and play golf every week. You obviously a part time armchair plastic who has just gathered a load of individual quotes from the negatives on here and posted as your own opinion. If you must write prose and poems the words you use should be your own, dont plaguerise or take on loan! oops sorry!

in my opinion, we are a laughing stock. we are a joke right now, scraping through matches by the skin of our teeth, playing dire, unwatchable, dull and downright shocking football. i didnt watch the game today as i couldnt but i heard it on the radio, and going by what the commentator said, it was almost unwatchable, it was that bad. i have watched the last 6 or 7 games, and i'm sorry, i've had enough, i'm sick of it. we are beginning to look like a team that is definitely there for the taking from any team. i saw part of both the spurs and villa games today, to see how they would play against two teams down the bottom of the table, and after that, we seriously need to get our act together because there is nothing that i see in both spurs and villa that can convince me that they will fall away. they are very much up for it and you can see that they take the games by the scruff of the neck and can convincingly win against lower teams, something we find exceptionally hard to do. we will need to be on our game to compete with them both, otherwise i can see it being a failed season. we now have hard fixtures coming up now, as we have had our chance against the easier teams and haven't been able to beat them, and in some circumstances, get a draw.
i'm not convinced Mancini has the slightest of clues how to handle the english game at all, and i fear for the team if any of the rumours in the papers about player backlashes are true. i feel the decision to bring in Mancini was rushed and no thought went into it whatsoever and i'm sure hughes is feeling pretty fecked off due to the fact we are possibly playing worse with mancini as to when we were with hughes. (just how i feel). As the title says, its almost getting beyond a joke, i have no confidence in going into a game with 200MILLION POUNDS WORTH OF PLAYERS and thinking that we will convincingly win let alone win 4 or 5 nil. the confidence has left me now, and with the under performing of players e.g Ireland, who, imo has failed miserably so far this season and isn't even a patch on his former self, and is letting games pass him by. he is getting his chance and fucking it up every time. Mancini's tactics are shit and he hasnt got a clue at all.

Lets hope it improves

Right I wasn't playing golf and did go to the game. It was the biggest load of bollocks I have seen since we were in div 2 how anyone can defend that kind of football is beyond me I don't think I saw a single forward pass all game he must be telling them to look for given for there first pass or something cos thts what it looked like actualy what are mancinis tactics bore the sh*t out of everyone till the opposition keeper hangs himself on his goalposts? By 1/2 time I was actualy wishing we had pearce as manager again. An before someone comes bk with "did you say this after the burnley game" the answers no cis at least I had comedey defending and actual football to keep me entertained

And to everyone that said "a point against Liverpool is a good result" last season I would have agreed with you this season They are shite we shud hv had 6 points off them not 2 both GED they were there for the takeing. 1 thing I will agree with most people on is lescott/kompany did look good playin together
