After the debacle at OT last season there was similar widespread talk of us finishing outside the top 4 and Pellers having lost the plot yet we won the last 6 games to finish 2nd.

I think the situation's worse this time but if we somehow were to win 6 and draw 2 of the remaining games to finish 3rd and we also manage to reach the CL SF how would you rate this season. I'd have it as just about acceptable. Yes there are one or two big ifs in there but it's not a long shot by any means.

A lot can happen in 2 months. Finishing 3rd, reaching the CL SF and winning the League Cup in what could be considered a transitional season wouldn't be a disaster.

I get the sense that some fans think they can just will the club to win, because I'm not sure how else they could be so deluded. What in God's green earth makes you think we could go 6-2-0?
 
Ffs we haven't won back to back league matches since fucking October!

But we are going to snatch 20 points oh I can just feel it in my knickers!

We might only need to win 5 and draw 3 to finish 3rd.

Judging on current form it looks unlikely but it looked unlikely last season and we put a run together.

In 7 of the 8 games left we'll be favourites to win, 6 of them less than even money to do so.
 
We need a total rethink in terms of tactics and personnel but this senile old prick would rather lose than be disloyal to his favourites.

The man is beyond incompetent. What he did yesterday was unforgivable and he should be sacked based on that alone.
 
The way I feel at the moment is that every team we have still to play are rubbing their hands with the expectation of an easy 3 points. Unless MP has a brain explosion and starts picking teams to BEAT the opposition.

The fact that we have a good team that is out of form, and that form could end at any point. I think our attacking players are running on empty and with KDB and Nasri returning we could start to see some positives soon. Also, Dino can fill in at CB from now on, MDM is an aggressive defender but he no longer has the legs to play that way and it cost us today (and quiet a few times already this season)

I'm not sure our current situation can be accurately described as "out of form" we have been fucking garbage since September, 5+ months of this shit suggests it is the norm rather than a temporary dip.
 
It was poor yesterday but i have a feeling (maybe its hope) that we will get the CL spot - first time poster here. Do i need a certain number of relies before i can start a thread?
 
Our problem is twofold, simple to see, yet difficult to understand.

1. We have forgotten how to score

2. The opposition don't have to do anything special to score against us!

If we can solve why this is happening, we could win 8 from 8, if we don't we may not get another point.

Over to you Mr Pellegrini, engineer a solution to that!

he`s the problem not the solution
 
At least with De Bruyne returning we should actually score some goals again!

I imagine the team against Bournemouth will look quite poor and we will probably only vet a point at best but against West brom we should be fielding a midfield of

Yaya
Fernandinho

De Bruyne
Silva
Nasri

Hopefully we will then start bossing the possession and creating some real chances again. I can only be positive because I know what this team is capable of!
