It's Not All Doom and Gloom

i said from the off we should have at least tried to get simione "if he`d have come" instead of pelligrini. i dont think we`d be in the position we find ourselves in now.

I don't like the style of play Simeone adopts personally, & didn't want him, but with hindsight, he or any decent young manager would most likely have won stuff with this squad & also used the huge riches on offer from the academy to beef up the squad.

Iheanacho would have a lot more game time under just about anyone.

I had an argument with a guy on here after we beat villa. He was arguing we can still win the title and I was saying he was deluded. Now even top 4 looks just like wishful thinking.

The big difference to last season is simply we don't look up for it. There were moments last season when we still played very well. I honestly haven't seen us play well since October. Kiev 3-1 looks rosy because they were so poor. Same with 4-0 v villa. We played relatively well against Liverpool in the cup final but again if you compare that performance to the majority of our title winning performances it's way below par. This team, with the exception of a few, is done, as is the manager.

the treatment of iheanacho is one of my biggest fears, i think he will wither on the vine if pelligrini stays in charge

PSG will stuff us, unless you believe in the football equivalent of the Angel of Mons.

We are fortunate that we have already got qualification for the Thursday Night League, because at the moment I wouldn't fancy City to beat an egg. When a team gets into a state like this, nothing short of a new manager and a complete shake up will sort it. Currently we are just the top half equivalent of Aston Villa.

It was poor yesterday but i have a feeling (maybe its hope) that we will get the CL spot - first time poster here. Do i need a certain number of relies before i can start a thread?

I do laugh when people on here say "I have a feeling..." as if that means they're now Nostradamus reincarnated.

All I have a feeling means is you've had a dodgy kebab and you're guessing.

I think we'll still make the top 4. We need a powerful midfielder like Imbula, the player Stoke bought in January.

I don't know how Pellegrini can carry on selecting Demichelis and Toure. The results are predictable every time we play. Demichelis is too slow and Toure just trots around - of course that has consequences. And it affects the play of other players too
I've looked at the fixtures upcoming and can't see us getting enough points.

We will not win any of the away games and will drop points to Arsenal at home.

You can't just switch form on so I'm afraid I've already accepted our first year with Pep will be without CL.

Should not have been allowed to happen but we can't have everything.

I am afraid Pellers legacy is now tarnished.
I still believe he won the League and League Cup with basically the side he inherited from Roberto Mancini.

The core structure of that side won the league again. This season we scrapped past Liverpool to win the league cup again.

Although he created friction and at times disharmony in the side at least Mancini instilled a winning mentality and a desire to win. During that era no one looked forward to playing City at the Eithad.

Since then in my view and I appreciate others will disagree, we have had a slow and steady decline into mediocrity.

Ok we have gone further in the Champions League but with the money spent on the squad, that is the least we should expect.

When I look at the side today, I cannot see any improvement on Mancini's side. The squad needs a complete overhaul, something Mancini saw years ago.

Pellers reluctance to play Nacho instead of Bony indicates a lack of forward planning and faith in the youth development.

Player recruitment has been hit and mainly miss in my book. It's a sad state of affairs for Pellers. My only hope is that the players can dig us out of this hole we are in and Pep can resurrect our fortunes next season.

The problem is that when Toure is not there to trot around we are normally even worse than when he plays. Demichelis can only play in a defensive system which is set up to compensate for his tired body and mind!!!
