We need Kolo just as much as Kompany and Lescott. Our problem last year was having Kompany suspended at a time Kolo was on ACON duty, and therefore had to rely on Savic. For defenders this time

any combination from the above would IMo improve on this year with the distinct advantage is that Martinez could also act as a DM.

In terms of midfield

If Hazzard can operate wide that allows for plan B or if he is more akin to Silva then allows for Silva to get some rest during what is bound to be a long season.

Strikers

If Yaya wants out and we are prepared to let him leave we will need another midfield player and if any of the strikers are leaving again they will need to be replaced.

with Johannsen as third keeper that is a 23 man fully compliant squad for the premier league and CL. But it means from now on it will need one out before we can add one for CL purposes
