Trying to remember when Chelsea got took over but suspect it was at least 7 years ago, it also took 7 years for the pisscan to win it. On that basis we have another 4 years of waiting, however it would be nice to get to quarter final, semi final and final beforehand. I agree with previous posters this is a cup competition and not a league although it is meant to have league status it doesn't. A lot depends on the draw especially in the knock out stages for what it is worth I suspect that we will either have to beat Barca or Real Madrid over two legs to win it.

I reckon we're getting either in the Group Stages next season, Platini will do what he can to stop us.

If we can get rvp, bale, Martinez and maybe t silva we have to fear no one! Not saying we would definitely beat them but we would have a good chance! The title win and the way it was done in the last 6 games will change the club and big matches forever! Big games will come and the players will be calmer and even better mentally!

Some of you really are clueless about the game and what makes a good player!! :(

RVP would be an excellent signing in my opinion.

He has alays been top class but last season he really 'came of age' and had clearly finally 'got' being a striker.

If we look at his stats over the last 4 seasons -

2011/12 - Apps 47 Goals 37 Assists 15

2010/11 - Apps 33 Goals 22 Assists 7

2009/10 - Apps 20 Goals 10 Assists 8

2008/9 - Apps 44 Goals 20 Assists 15

Played 144, Scored 89, Assisted 45

So adding together his goals scored and assists he's delivered (been directly involved in the scoring of) some 134 goals in 144 appearances.

That equates to an average of 34 goals per season he's played a part in.

and for those of you who consider him a crock he's played an average of 36 games per season over the last 4 seasons.

At 29, yes he's no spring chicken, but he has 3 years left. Look at the stats above and explain why he wouldn't make an excellent addition to our squad?

Falco is the better choice and younger.

Not really. LoveCity has documented Atletico's financial trouble. 30 million more would be a 60 million pound fee (when you consider the wages we would have to pay RVP). I would say possibly an extra 10-15 million more is more realistic. When you consider the income either would generate by getting us further into the CL (and possibly winning it) I would bet that Falco would actually be cheaper over the long haul. We could always sell him in 4 years....not an option for RVP.

If TH right he reckons we have 60m net spend. So do the maths if we are to sign Bale Martinez and RVP - just about, try to get Bale Falcao as well as Martinez forget that, don't think AM will appreciate us taking Aguero last year, then Martinez then Falcao. For me the only important signing this window is Martinez anything over just the cherry on the cake.

Falcao would cost £40-50 million + high end wages.

He will not leave Atletico this summer, you can quote me on that.

Too right. Very important difference between Athletic and Athletico....
