Difference is RVP has been doing it against the best defences in the world falcao hasnt thats all i am pointing out, i am not saying falcao is not good i just think it is more of a risk than RVP
He did pretty well in the Europa final against a team that battered the rags home and away. IMO he is better buy than RVP.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion I have no problems with yours, me personally i believe RVP is a better all round player.

Falcao scored against Barcelona, Real Madrid, Valencia, and Bilbao in La Liga last season. Barca and Real are better than every English team while Valencia and Bilbao have showed repeatedly they stack up well against English teams. He was also the top scorer in the Europa League against different teams (including goals against two Italian teams). The only reason he hasn't scored against English defences is because he's hardly played against them! However he did score against Arsenal when Porto were in the Champions League a few seasons back.

although i think falcao is a great player and good at what he does, i do not feel he is as technically as gifted as RVP. i think what he does in the leagues he has played is take advantage of the rather poor defending in the leagues winning a lot of headers i dont think he would win in the prem but this is just my opinion i wouldnt mind either but i just think RVP is probably the better player for our team.

And you think RVP scores goals from the halfway line?? Majority of his goals have been simple tap-ins - the result of a tactical play. What sets him apart from the other strikers is his positioning, knowing where the ball will be as he starts his run into the box..

And that's probably why City is interested in RVP..we're looking for a lethal finisher who can score goals from the numerous chances we usually get..

Falcao has scored against Barcelona and Madrid this season. He's won the Europa league twice so I'm sure you can imagine how many good defences he's scored against along the way. He can only score against the team put in front of him and he been doing it longer and more consistently than RVP

i didnt say he hasnt scored against the best teams madrid and barcelona are hardly renowned for their defensive qualities, falcao scored 36 all competitions, RVP 37 in a harder league.

I'd prefer Falcao over RVP mainly due to his age. But the fact RVP will probably cost much less, plus the fact I feel he'd combine with Aguero much more efficiently, means I'd rather RVP comes in.

Why is everyone saying things like 'if we sign these players we'll win the Champions League' or 'this team will win the Champions League'? No it won't.

The team that last won the Champions League had Bosingwa, Kalou and Bertrand in the starting XI. Our current side are 10x better then Chelsea's Champions League winning team. Signing certain players won't guarantee you anything, particularly in a cup competition. So much of winning a knockout competition comes down to luck, there is no one player we can sign that will guarantee us winning it. Barcelona have Messi and Real have Ronaldo, so why didn't they win the Champions League this season based on that logic?

Buying better players will give us a better chance, but don't expect us to win the Champions League in the next season or two. We could dominate domestically for the next 10 years and still not win it, let's not get ahead of ourselves here.

Not particularly relevant I know, just had to get that off my chest.

Kill joy... Lol

Trying to remember when Chelsea got took over but suspect it was at least 7 years ago, it also took 7 years for the pisscan to win it. On that basis we have another 4 years of waiting, however it would be nice to get to quarter final, semi final and final beforehand. I agree with previous posters this is a cup competition and not a league although it is meant to have league status it doesn't. A lot depends on the draw especially in the knock out stages for what it is worth I suspect that we will either have to beat Barca or Real Madrid over two legs to win it.
