CM will be easy to get. At worst if Martinez won't leave, M'Vila is available. If Real buys either, then Sahin is available if he isn't already. Then there are others like Fellaini.

Winger is now tricky. Lavezzi and Hazard are gone, they were straightforward. Now it's a mix of unproven South Americans, Muniain and Bale who will be hard to buy, and players like Gaitan who will be straightforward but overpriced for their skill level.

Worth noting that we haven't heard a peep about Plan B for Hazard. Just Van Persie to reinforce a position where we're overstocked. City must have cut down on the leaks.

Yep the last of the Taffia left near the end of the season.
CM?
Edit: when you said CM i thought you meant it was initials of a player, but its centre mid. Haha.

Wow, what happened to the summer? Who won the Euros? Were the Olympics good.
Oh, hang on. Just checked again.
It's the first week of June. That's June. Still nearly three months of the window left.
Stop flapping and grow a pair you great big bunch of fairies. I'm sure Sheikh Mansour is ready to do business again, when the time and the deals are right. I very much doubt he gives a shit who other clubs are signing or what fucking TalkShite has to say about anything.

Well said mate some of the posts on here are embarrassing to say the least.

What's the availability of Erikson and Subotic, both would improve our squad no end. Do they have long contracts

Subotic is a no go as Dortmund are in a very strong position and don't need to sell. Eriksen is a slightly more possibilty but like Hazard wants a regular starting place if he does want to leave Ajax.

Bilbao as club will not progress as a club without ditching or adjusting their commendable but restricted buying policy. If we sign him it would be a good move.

If City bought him he will not be a CB or CM cover, he will replace either Lescott or Barry.

He won't be a replacement for those two though yet. The Premier League has a cap of the number of foreign players in the squad.

In the first XI?

There are no real restrictions with the starting XI if you get your squad sorted first.

Looks like Martinez not interested.

So you post info like this which people will no doubt be interested to know where you got it from or at least some quotes to back it up but nothing. Attention seeking or what?! Maybe you're just waiting for 20 more posters to ask the same question first.

Bilbao star ready to snub interest from Man City and Barcelona
Javi Martinez in action for Athletic Bilbao against Lokomotiv Moscow

Barcelona want to sign Athletic Bilbao's Javi Martinez - but the Manchester City target insists he's happy to remain where he is.

Martinez, equally adept at playing in midfield as he is in defence, is the subject of intense interest from City, with reports claiming Roberto Mancini was ready to make a £25m move.

The 23-year-old is also attracting interest from Barcelona but, after seeing Bilbao manager Marcelo Bielsa sign a new contract at the club, the Spain international insists he is settled at San Mames.

"The fact I'm being linked with Barcelona is a sign that I'm playing well but I'm not thinking about any of that, I'm concentrating on the Euros and trying to get as many minutes as possible with the national team," Martinez said.

"The fact that Bielsa is staying is great news for the club. I think he wants to continue on the work he has done so far and give continuity to the group.

"There's a lot of talk about potential transfers but both [Fernando] Llorente and I have contracts."

"I'm not thinking about leaving. I'm an Athletic player, if you ask me what I think about being a target for Barcelona then I will say that's just a sign that I'm doing well. But I'm at home at Athletic and I have a contract."

It's called a loyalty bonus. He ain't gonna say I'd love to leave and forfeit any money due.

Remember when they said City wouldn't be able to attract any big names unless we got Champions League football? Before we managed that we got Tevez, Yaya, Dzeko, Balotelli, and Silva. Since we've managed it, we have landed Aguero and Nasri but missed out on main targets Sanchez and Hazard, and now another primary target Martinez looks like he'll be a challenge to sign.

Yes but we aren't willing to pay the same amount anymore it seems. Martinez has a buyout clause. In the day we may have bid that amount from the start; if I am reading things correctly we have put in a bid that is shy of the buyout clause but one we think is fair. If we really want to, we can remove Bilbao from the equation by bidding his release clause and then turn directly to Martinez's agent.

I believe he means on the pitch. Clearly Lescott and Barry will be in the squad next year.

I think Lescott will be still the first choice for now along with Barry. We still have to be wary in bringing in foreign talent though with the restrictions.
