Bilbao as club will not progress as a club without ditching or adjusting their commendable but restricted buying policy. If we sign him it would be a good move.

If City bought him he will not be a CB or CM cover, he will replace either Lescott or Barry.

He won't be a replacement for those two though yet. The Premier League has a cap of the number of foreign players in the squad.

Home grown. Foreign restrictions are illegal and homegrown will also be ruled illegal one day when soeone can be bothered challenging it in the ECJ

How about Nicolas Gaitan, wolfswinkle, belhanda, eriksen plenty of yound talent out there.

Gaston ramirez is pretty good too but dont know whom he will replace plays more like nasri from what i have seen.

We definetly need a winger and a good one this transfer window.

And we have one hell of a player in yaya, God forbid if he gets injured we need some one of his calibre inour team, we currently have no one like him neither there are any players like him out there. Hope yaya has an excellent season with us and so glad hes not goingto next acon.

I could see either Gaston Ramirez or Gaitan coming in. It looks like we have already made enquiries for Ramirez already and Gaitan we were heavily linked along with the rags in the last twelve months.

-- Tue Jun 05, 2012 5:18 pm --

It will take time and it looks like we are pre-occupied with the FFPR looming. Don't get me wrong we will be bringing an extra Foreign player or two, but it won't be at the expense of the English players.

We won't have a problem finding a good winger, there's quite a lot out there and we don't necessarily have to pay a fortune to get one. Central midfield is more difficult though, seems like we want a combative one who can also pass well, so if not Martinez... maybe M'Vila (Rennes), Strootman (PSV), Inler (Napoli), or Fellaini (Everton). Vidal from Juventus would be great but can see no way of signing him.

If we only sign RVP then it's been very poor business on our half. One thing we didn't lack last season was goals so why the need to add another older more injury prone one.

So what did we, the champions, lack last season?

Bale, Martinez, Fellani

It's the end of August already?
Wow, what happened to the summer? Who won the Euros? Were the Olympics good.
Oh, hang on. Just checked again.
It's the first week of June. That's June. Still nearly three months of the window left.
Stop flapping and grow a pair you great big bunch of fairies. I'm sure Sheikh Mansour is ready to do business again, when the time and the deals are right. I very much doubt he gives a shit who other clubs are signing or what fucking TalkShite has to say about anything.

CM will be easy to get. At worst if Martinez won't leave, M'Vila is available. If Real buys either, then Sahin is available if he isn't already. Then there are others like Fellaini.

Winger is now tricky. Lavezzi and Hazard are gone, they were straightforward. Now it's a mix of unproven South Americans, Muniain and Bale who will be hard to buy, and players like Gaitan who will be straightforward but overpriced for their skill level.

Worth noting that we haven't heard a peep about Plan B for Hazard. Just Van Persie to reinforce a position where we're overstocked. City must have cut down on the leaks.

As i see it the only positions we can improve on is a CM to play alongside Yaya for Barry and another world class CB to partner Kompany. after that a squad player or 2 might come in handy if we have a good run in all 4 comps.

If Tevez stays he will play in the hole with Nasri and Silva, where's Bale playing??? we dont play with wingers and to do so we would have to change our winning 4-2-3-1 system, our width comes form Clichy and Richards, what dont some of you understand?? onless Bale is the new Kinky and can dance his way through a defence and play short tippy tappy football with Silva, Nasri, Tevez and Aguero he doesnt fit a 4-2-3-1 onless he plays LWB but Clichy is doing a great job in that postion, would be a waste of 40million

The whole point of bringing in a player like Bale would be that we can change our 4-2-3-1 system. Yes, it was effective for the majority of the season, but we struggled against teams that 'parked the bus' when we played away from home like Napoli and Sunderland. We lacked width in these games and Bale would bring us that.

I also think we are looking towards an improvement in the Champions League with these signings, RVP has a lot of CL experience, and Bale caused all sorts of problems for defenses when spurs were in the CL a couple of years ago.

Yep the last of the Taffia left near the end of the season.
