QPR planning raid on Manchester City for Kolo Toure, Bridge & Santa Cruz
EXCLUSIVE
By Greg Stobart

QPR boss Mark Hughes is planning to launch a bid for Manchester City trio Roque Santa Cruz, Wayne Bridge and Kolo Toure.

With all three players each earning in the region of £90,000 a week and City desperate to slash their wage bill, Hughes could land the trio for under £8 million - £37m less than the total he paid in 2009 while in charge at City.

Santa Cruz has been made available for £2m after spending the whole of last season on loan at Real Betis where he netted seven goals in 33 league appearances.

Toure, who turned 31 this year, has found himself pushed down the pecking order at City but has been valued at £5m, while Bridge is in the shop window for under £1m.

QPR are in the hunt to secure established Premier League players after securing their survival last season but have already failed in their pursuit of Emmanuel Adebayor, who has targeted a move to a bigger club.
Don't think this will happen. Mark Hughes isn't that stupid.
Yes he is. He has just given 50k a week to Robert Green. Yes, ROB FUCKING GREEN.

I pray that deal comes off, wouldn't like to lose Kolo but if we are going to be bringing someone in then he can leave.

Keep in mind that tax in Spain changed and from this season it's not going to be only 24% but whooping 56%, few more in Catalonia.

So Spanish clubs are going to lose a lot of their attractiveness they had in recent years.

Depends whether players have been canny enough to get inserted in their contract that the club pay the tax and the amount they get is net. There was a debate on this on radio some time ago and some agent said whether regards Italian Players or Spanish that most have a net pay contract.

That's only the folklore, it doesn't matter who is paying it, what matters is that teams have to pay more money for players to be happy with their wages.

For player to have 100k wages net 125k it's not enough anymore, it's 155k now.

The tax laws have never changed for Spanish born players.

Immigrant workers (Beckham Law) was changed January 2010.

Its old hat that story.

All I can say is if you were Silva and won the premier you'd want to go to your home country and win the league so I can see him going after next season if we get decent money all I would say is good luck to him

Needs some more clues from Tomlie. Hopefully everything will become clearer regarding RVP if Holland get knocked out

I am not an expert on Spanish tax law, but this article does seem to indicate that the tax laws have been changed for Spanish born players:

Does anyone think Suarez is ready to come in and play the Silva role against lesser opposition?

Certainly in the carling cup and most likely he'll make a few prem appearances from the bench this season.

i should think so, when we are 3/4 goals ahead in some games i reckon mancini will trust the young players more. its just a case of whether or not they are selected on the bench in the first place, as our exceptionally good injury record this year meant that there weren't many spots for youngsters
