If the unthinkable of Silva being sold was countered by the purchase of Modric and Bale would you be happy? We would be stronger for it

No we wouldnt. if you sell your best players you are weaker as a result - golden rule. Neither bale or modric are as good as silva.
But i think hell would freeze over before city sold silva this close season

here here! And this is a really informative and interesting article from the Guardian, when he first arrived in England. He is quite a little character with a mind of his own and methinks quite a dash of loyalty:

Why would they want silva they have Özil.

They literally want two world class players for every position. It's been said we do too but we haven't really except up front. Their second choice left-back cost £30million and their second choice playmaker who Silva would replace cost £56million.
not to mention the 3rd choice 60m Kaka. Silva might be swayed by a potential return hone as it is widely known he is dissatisfied in England. But we can make him stay regardless of what he wants. Here is to me hoping he reacts like Modric and not Tevez.

Bore off.

Never thought I would do this but reported.

One thing that might swing in our favour is Real's playing style. I don't see him quite fitting in there, and the only other club he might fit in is Barcelona.

Could think of worse signings than Simon Kjaer, the denmark CD. Young and competent defender and scandinavians adapt well to the premiership

Was absolutely shit for Wolfsburg and Roma.

also cant remember any scandinavian who 'adapted well' for us in the past, admittedly cant remember us signing any particuarly highly rated scandinavians either

Well I never....what about kåre ingebrigtsen!!

I am very happy in England, I have two years left on my contract and I want to see it out.

"Right now, I do not want to return [to Spain], I am enjoying life in England, people treat me wonderfully and I want to continue enjoying this.

"Mancini has complete trust in me, which is very important for a player and I am very happy. My team-mates are adapting well to my game and that is very good for me."

Silva then played down reports that Barcelona and Real Madrid were also interested in his services before he moved to England.

"Neither Barca, nor Madrid made any move," he explained. "City were the ones to make a move and that is why I am here.

"I am where I am wanted."

We bought him for 30 mill. Hes worth at least 50 now.

We got him for 24million didn't we? I always quote that to my rags mates, with the old tag line "no value in the market"

Best one for that is Kompany for 6 mil :)

Silva is loyal and from what I understand likes Manchester and the club. Non storey... How many times does he have to say he's happy. It's just media, how many players have been said to be leaving. All have said they are happy. The media just pick city players at random and make up BS like this.

Yeah he comes off as very loyal and humble. Would be gutted if he left, but there's no way I think we'll be selling him this season.

I will be more relaxed when he signs his new contract then all the doubts will vanish in an instant.
