If we were close to making a big name signing we would have made sure we completed it before the world knew there was going to be such an increase in revenue because of the new tv deal. Players will cost more and demand more wages as a result.

I think the club thought we had all but signed Hazard and at the time weren't pursuing anyone else to the same extent. I dont believe we are particularly close to a 'marque' signing at the moment but patience is a virtue. There is still 2 months until the season starts and we didnt sign Aguero until a couple of weeks before it began last season, and we signed Nasri after it had started.

I will happily be proven wrong but in the mean time - stop flapping everyone.
 
Could TH have meant Rednapp leaving Spuds tonight & announced after the Holland game? Richard Keys tweeting he's left Spuds, seems more credible than random tweets yesterday.
