re Navas

It's well known in Spain that the lad gets homesick. this is a common trait in many andalucian people. Think Antonio Reyes, never settled at Arsenal, went back to Spain (Atletico Madrid) but wasn't happy until back at his beloved Sevilla.

So this is not going to happen in my opinion.

In terms of what we need Pedro?, Martinez?, De Rossi?

I have no idea who we are after and this thread is getting really hard to follow. I think that as others have said, we need a CB, MID and a Winger, but also more importantly to get rid of the dead wood.

While I know these types of lists are notoriously off beam sometimes (ie no Yaya) I would have thought that our bomb signing ought to be in the top 19 players in the world.

Here they are.

19. Luis Suarez (Liverpool & Uruguay) UP FIVE
18. Arjen Robben (Bayern Munich & Holland) DOWN ONE
17. Gareth Bale (Tottenham & Wales) UP TWO
16. Eden Hazard (Lille & Belgium) UP THREE
15. Cesc Fabregas (Barcelona & Spain) DOWN ONE
14. Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich & Germany) DOWN THREE
13. Zlatan Ibrahimovic (AC Milan & Sweden) UP TWENTY
12. Xabi Alonso (Real Madrid & Spain) NO CHANGE
11. Neymar (Santos & Brazil) UP SIX
10. Sergio Aguero (Man City & Argentina) NO CHANGE
9. Franck Ribery (Bayern Munich & France) DOWN ONE
8. Wayne Rooney (Man United & England) UP ONE
7. Mario Gomez (Bayern Munich & Germany) NO CHANGE
6. David Silva (Man City & Spain) DOWN ONE
5. Andres Iniesta (Barcelona & Spain) UP ONE
4. Robin Van Persie (Arsenal & Holland) NO CHANGE
3. Xavi (Barcelona & Spain) NO CHANGE
2. Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid & Portugal) NO CHANGE
1. Lionel Messi (Barcelona & Argentina) NO CHANGE

Think about it. We need width and defensive cover. De Rossi had been very provocative with replies recently, good shout for him. Definitely think a wide man. Navas is a quality player who I've rated for years, he needs a step up and we are that step up. Not a bomb imo, Di Maria would be though. I still think its Di Maria, money being used for Modric.

-- Fri Jun 22, 2012 9:45 am --

Dzeko replacement, that's the playet we are getting. A bomb definitely.

does anyone like me think DDR is a cheeky c*nt - had the chance to come for a reasonable amount then signs a whopping contract which potentially could cost whoever signs him an extra 10 mill.

I understand loyalty but it seems to me he knew exactly what he was doing - wanting your cake and eating it comes to mind.

On this alone I would tell him to FO

While Cavani is a good player I am not sure he has the Tolmie factor. ie a player that will help us get over the fact we are not signing RVP, Tranny etc

The only players worldwide who have the status of these two would be
Neymar, Xavi Hernandez, Ibrahimovic, Iniesta.

The first is a young brazilian, been there got burnt. Xavi is 32, but if Barca let him go on a free for distinguished service and he wanted a challenge then YES.
Ibra don't need. We have 4 strikers already. Iniesta would be great but we already have Silva and Nasri floating around attacking midfield.

So Xavi to replace or give a breather to Gazbaz then.
