The most productive partnership over the course of the season was Aguero and Dzeko IIRC. I'd like to see the results and stats in which Tevez and Aguero played together for Argentina....

I agree with pudge that Aguero and Dzeko has been our best partnership. I believe that, if Mancini really worked on that partnership, it could be one of the best striking partnerships ever (for any team). As well as complementing each other in terms of style etc, both are genuine team players and remarkably non-egotistical for strikers.

As to Aguero and Tevez, I think that tensions will emerge eventually. The loss of the Guardian Chalkboard is really sad: it would have been good to see how often they actually passed to each other after Tevez returned.

As to Argentina, I think that the frequency with which Tevez and Aguero played together is less than most people imagine. Last April, Stuart Brennan wrote in the MEN:

"The pair have been seen as incompatible when playing for their country – despite compiling 92 caps between them since Aguero made his international debut six years ago, they have only started together three times."

i hope tevez stays and i think it will be likely. my personal opinion is that european clubs aren t throwing the massive cash and wages about now, add to that tevez has his history of tantrums......he is a big headache and could only really be happy and secure in south america ( who could never afford him!)

so unless someone comes in with a good swap that suits RM, i think he stays.

I'm in that boat.

The problem with Tevez is that he always goes missing in the big games, its all very well to run around alot and score goals against Norwich, but we need players who will play great games against the vermin and in the other big games.
Last season is no guide at all. In his previous seasons he was outstanding and many neutrals regarded City as a one-man team. It was Tevez who stood up to the plate time after time. he's done that for West ham, Utd and City

In his first season for City he didnt perform when the race for fourth was settled, both against Tottenham and the scum that season he didnt perform.

Just a few examples of big games.

And last season.

Carlos Tevez came out of exile to create Samir Nasri's late winner as Manchester City ensured they closed back in on leaders Manchester United at the top of the Premier League.

He came from the bench to remind City what they had been missing - and what he had missed in his absence - as City turned the game around to secure a vital victory to reduce the gap to a single point and ensure their destiny remains in their own hands, with United still to visit The Etihad in April.

Feels like we are getting our own house in order before we add to squad. More deals out before we start the additions. VP back tracking on anti Arse statement last week suggests he is not as popular as he thought he was going to be in the market place. Also suggests as TH stated that no done deals in place for him from us.
