Adebayor is one of the most frustrating players ever to play for City. I expect him to score against us next season and have a stormer, but then expect him to revert to type. It will be a test of AVB man-mangement skills.

Agreed. when you see him play like he did against arsenal, and then see him wonder about totally disinterested for the rest of the season, encapsulates everything i hate about footballers.

Vincent kompany then restores my faith

As we don't play spurs in the first 5 games, I wouldn't worry....

Yep true there is no point in worrying about it, but it is a certainty if he stays fit between then.

I read the training reports on the official web-site, and I thought it was significant that Tevez was there earlier than expected. A good sign.

Agreed. In the videos he looks in quite good shape and looks like he's working hard.

Yeah he looks like he has his head in the game.

Aguero Higuain partnership works better than Tevez. Well their national manager thinks so.

Goalscorer Carlos Tevez revels in Manchester derby win

Goalscorer Carlos Tevez saluted Manchester City's fans after his double saw off neighbours United in the first leg of the Carling Cup semi-final.

And last season.

Carlos Tevez came out of exile to create Samir Nasri's late winner as Manchester City ensured they closed back in on leaders Manchester United at the top of the Premier League.

He came from the bench to remind City what they had been missing - and what he had missed in his absence - as City turned the game around to secure a vital victory to reduce the gap to a single point and ensure their destiny remains in their own hands, with United still to visit The Etihad in April.

he also scored in a champions league final penalty shootout

He has played plenty of good games, but that doesnt address my point.

When the championship or indeed the FA-cup was being decided Tevez didnt perform in the deciding games, neither did he contribute anything when the race for fourth was lost.

In your squad you need champions, the players who er big game players and Tevez have never been a big game player.

In the games where our trophies were won it was players like Yaya and Kompany who stepped up not Tevez.

Okay lets break this down, The championship and the FA Cup
FA Cup-wouldn't of got to the semi's without him, injured for the semi's. Very unfit for the final, almost scored at the end again his fitness showed.
Championship-Well less said about last season the better but he most definitely helped us beat Chelsea, without that game we finish 2 points behind rags.

The race for fourth- He didn't contribute anything?? Shall we just ignore the 23 league goals that helped us to fight for 4th!?!?

Big game player- Well this is debatable he managed to score in a chumps league final but also fluffed his lines for Argentina in the Copa. He also scored 3 goals against the rags in a CC semi over 2 legs including a penalty again FA Cup final he had just come back for injury and not fit so not fair to judge on that game

How can we possibly suggest Tevez didn't perform in the run in for the championship !?
He single handedly won us the Chelsea game (h), Same with Norwich (a).

No explosions yet. Tick tock

Calm before the storm.
Though we've just made the best signing, still think we'll make a headline signing(just to turn the screw a little bit more)
