For some reason I think it's Richards who might be on the way out. As much as he did improve last year he still isn't comfortable carrying the ball forward has a pretty poor crossing ability and still sleeps in in defence, and is caught out not getting back when he does go forward. Mancini was always very non-committal when asked about him going for the England set-up and hasn't vetoed the Olympics in favor or a preseason with the club. I mean the other 2 older players are well into their 30's and won't be playing as automatic first team players next year.
It wouldn't be my ideal way to do things this summer but if the owners want to fast track us for a European challenge then I would imagine Richards, Lescott, de Jong,Barry and Tevez would be the ones to lose out. I get the feeling Dzeko might not be safe either as I suspect
there is still a feeling of being let down by him on Mancini's part from that night in Munich. He started most games before that and was scoring plenty but after he seemed to be put to the bench for Mario who seems to be Mancini's private project but I suspect he will have to step up this year or see his bags packed

My opinion like i said elsewhere in the thread i wouldn't want to sell him but as th alluded that fans might be disappointed with who was on the way out but only til we see who replaces them or at least thats what most took from his posts. Most believe that Mancini wants players who are comfortable on the ball and of all our full backs i would say that Richards is the least technically able of the lot and is a fan favorite. Still don't think he is the finished article in defence though he did have a very good season and on the most part stopped the mistakes i pointed out even got more assists than i thought last year with a surprising 6 according to wikipedia. It was a lot of speculative conjecture based around what most were thinking that th meant a fan favorite could be on the way out and maybe should have made that bit clearer and like i say i don't want him sold.

You're entitled to your opinion, but it is a strange one. My opinion is that he is the most technically able fullback in the world. Hence all those assists.

If Kolo leaves and Savic goes out on loan, that leaves us well short even though Richards can cover. I don't think Mancini would have enough faith in Boyata to make him #3 and Rekik is brilliant but only 17 so you can't see him being anymore than #4 or #5 defender yet. So a signing will be certain if these deals are done but who...? Maybe we are really in for Skrtel.

Savic won't go out on-loan now Kolo is going but the fact the we seem happy to let Kolo go without really caring that much makes me think Mancini must be confident that he can bring in a top CB. Or maybe he already has one lined up and is just waiting on Kolo's departure.

With Thiago Silva being available I hope we bring him in.

More chance of me getting a City contract than Micah leaving! There's absolutely no reason or logic behind such thought. We need academy trained and homegrown for the quota (and we could struggle here in the not too distant future if we don't retain homegrown or buy British), plus there is the small matter of Micah being a high quality and improving right-back! The "disappointing" exit will be De Jong probably, he is a fan favourite linked with a move away.

This 100%! When we do sign/sell anybody im sure it will be the right decision. Don't think Mancini has made a bad signing yet apart from Boateng but i think we got our money back for him
