You can't have the manager criticising a senior club official in public. RM needs to watch his step and deal with these issues in-house.

Exactly, and if Marwood was not going after unattainable fucking targets all the time that have no desire to leave their club, are not coming to the end of their contract, and whose club has no desire to sell; then we actually might actually end up closing a fucking deal. The real person at fault is the one identifying the targets, which could in fact be Mancini himself.

I would generally err on the side of caution and agree with this post. It's disappointing if the gaffer has publicly hung BM out to dry when he knows that the final say on all things City and transfer related is with Khaldoon and Sheikh Mansoor.

Exactly what i thought when i first read it, you could also see it as a dangerous dig at the top brass for not parting with the money.

Surely they'd of told Mancini what he had to spend before he signed his new contract? Or Mancini would of at least asked them?

Yeah but how can you predict what his targets would be asking?

Mancini like any other manager just wants his players in, he's not interested in the politics and finance of that said target but i'm afraid there's lines that can't be crossed.

Depending on what agent fees are involved the deal might be dead before it starts, frustrating for Mancini but morales and standards to be kept.

Last summer Nasri had to tell his agent to back off as the deal was collapsing, he took a hit on it to see the deal through, some players aren't that willing.

some fair points, but there have been players who definitely wanted to leave and we couldn't close the deal, for whatever reason.

our competitors are picking up excellent players with seemingly little trouble.

Mancini probably sees Chelsea throwing money about and thinks why cant we do that.

Mancini is in a more powerful position now than last season. He probably thinks he can say these things openly as his star is now a lot brighter than certain people such as Marwood in the eyes of Khaldoon.

I can see why people say he shouldn’t criticise marwood in public. But if this outburst means marwood is pressurised into completing deals for agger and de rossi then would you think the outburst was a good or bad idea? Personally i’m happy for mancini to have a go at marwood if it increases our chances of getting these players.
With mancini there is a motive behind everything he says – he hasn’t done this on a whim or even out of frustration. It’s a tactic to influence things to the outcome he wants.

So you would rather we sign players that are not wanted by other clubs, which means they are not good enoug for us!
