I can see why people say he shouldn’t criticise marwood in public. But if this outburst means marwood is pressurised into completing deals for agger and de rossi then would you think the outburst was a good or bad idea? Personally i’m happy for mancini to have a go at marwood if it increases our chances of getting these players.
With mancini there is a motive behind everything he says – he hasn’t done this on a whim or even out of frustration. It’s a tactic to influence things to the outcome he wants.

C'mon, do you honestly believe that Brian Marwood is holding up transfers? Isn't it just a touch more likely that the players that Roberto wants are stupidly expensive and therefore the owners simply aren't sanctioning the deals.

Marwood is working under direct orders from Khaldoon and Mansour.
It`s not up to Marwood who we sign or don`t.

He said exactly the same thing last summer about Marwood at a presser.

It might be just his way to stop the reporter asking questions and to deflect the shit, Marwood may well be cool with him taking this approach and we're reading too much in to it?

Why should Mancini speak about transfers/deals. He is employed to prepare the players for the next match,so ask him questions about that. Marwood is the man who negotiates transfers not Mancini. So Mancini is right in tellng that slimy little shite Cooper when constantly pressed on transfers " Ask Marwood."

I cant see Khaldoon or Mansour being involved in choosing players for the squad. That would be kamikaze buying.

You only have to look at the Torres or Shevechenko signings by Chelsea.

You can't have the manager criticising a senior club official in public. RM needs to watch his step and deal with these issues in-house.

Exactly, and if Marwood was not going after unattainable fucking targets all the time that have no desire to leave their club, are not coming to the end of their contract, and whose club has no desire to sell; then we actually might actually end up closing a fucking deal. The real person at fault is the one identifying the targets, which could in fact be Mancini himself.

So you would rather we sign players that are not wanted by other clubs, which means they are not good enoug for us!

Players that are attainable. Sahin, Gary Cahill, Cardoza. Or players that have expressed a desire to play Chaps League which their current clubs can not offer. Our last two attempts ie De Rossi and Agger are bopth extremely loyal to their clubs and have expressed no desire to leave, with de rossi only recently signing a new contract.

Well why dont City make that twitter video interview with Marwood too:

#AskMarwood. :)

No i’m not saying marwood and marwood alone holds the keys to the safe. But marwood will be working to guidelines set out for him by the owners. What i’m saying is that by mancini pressuring marwood it may well lead to those guidelines being relaxed slightly in order to get the deals done.

Did I say the owners is choosing the players?

Marwood is working under directions from the owners.

Spot the difference.

Surely it's up to Mancini to win things & to identify the targets in order to keep on winning things (his job), but up to Marwood to use his nouse to find a way to bring them in (his job).

One of the two (not Mancini) is clearly not performing.

Sure, that could mean that he has to move players on first in order to balance the books, but it's not as if that is being done either.

Thing is that, like it or not, Adebayor & RSC (for example), will not be here on 1st September. So why not accept that fact and get rid of them now - in order to allow us to go after our targets - rather than hold on hoping for some angel to pay a transfer fee for them (which isn't going to happen) ?

Mancini has made this move, IMO, as HE is the man in power at the club at the moment. If he wasn't performing then he wouldn't be. Hopefully his 'balls out' power move will unblock a couple of situations (but I very much doubt that any of them will involve Agger due to him not being likely to be eligible for European competition).

It should also be noted that Mancini has been fobbed off with low quality reinforcement for his box-to-box midfield for the last 12 months now (first Hargreaves, then Pizzaro).
