we do already have a good first team that could give these kids the surroundings to make themselves and england great for years to come

what would be the point in signing Butland.

the fact that he has lots more potential than Pantilimon?

True, but he won't want to sit on the bench behind Joe for the majority of his career.

What a load of bull. Let's see what else they come up with next!

Bold prediction....we will never attempt to sign a young but non established or proven centre back from a top half premier league club, and we will not sign a keeper like Butland.

I'd question his ambition big-time if he joined us. If he thinks he's good enough for a big club Arsenal or Spurs is where his interest should lay.

Sign butland and send him out on loan for a few years

What is the purpose of that. He wouldn't count in our home-grown quota and in a couple years Hart will still be under 30 and dominant.

IMO too close to Hart's age for him to get enough games for us.
It would be unstainable long term. Hart is close to being the top keeper in Europe.

6 years apart is nothing as far as goalkeepers are concerned.

We have one of the English's best U17 goalkeepers Angus Gunn, who is 16 and impressed so much that he started in the NextGen (U19 tournament) aged 15 and is a regular for his country. Now that is a more realistic age range to succeed Hart if Angus can progress well into senior level (Gunn will be mid-20s when Joe is slowing down).
