The championship is a genuine league. They can do the basics. For context, I love Zinch, great attitude and an excellent squad player.

That is obviously not true, we have sustained challenges in all 4 competitions, just last season we did it, maybe it passed you by.To say we can’t win the c/l with Zinchenko, again nonsense ,we got to a final just last year against a Chelsea team we should have beaten, the fact we didn’t has nothing whatsoever to do with playing Zinchenko at left back .
We may well win the c/l this season without buying a left back.

That was my point. No player, Oleks included, gets into this team/squad/club if they 'cannot do the basics'.

You’re being slightly harsh, but the performance yesterday is proof that the UCL will be a hurdle unless the defensive solidity is achieved eventually. We let Leipzig score five goals in two games against us. And if Walker missing was a problem against Leicester yesterday, it will be a problem against Sporting, a team that is underestimated around here, managed by a very smart coach who reads games brilliantly and punishes teams in transition.

Why this thread turned into Zinchenko bashing?

Even so that's very unfair for him and downplaying his ability, Pep will never use him at all and will request for LB player if he thinks Zinchenko will never make into the first team squad on the first or second season in City. The fact that he didn't do that is statement of Zinchenko strength and that is always be enough for me if the world class manager like Pep who have seen many world class player on daily basis thinks Zinchenko is enough for a backup/rotation player for us.

I mean we should be grateful for a quality backup/rotational player like him didn't mind playing only handful match and not being a considered a first option. Not many player especially with a world class quality in the world is willing to be benched or rotation, so it will be difficult to find player like that even if we want to. So player with determination and patience like Zinny is very rare and we should be grateful player like that still exist even if he's not a world class player.
