It's Quiet 16 - Txiki grinders

We haven't got a natural finisher in the team. we all know that. I love Gabby for his workrate, professionalism and selflessness - thats why he isn't a natural finisher and therefore not a centre forward.

Him and Bernie are the best pressers in the team, but he is a little injury prone.
I don't want him to go, but he could be a big fish in a slighty smaller pond, elsewhere. (Apart from the swamp - no fun swimming in shit).

What lack of goals?
The pitiful 11 he's got in his last 49 league games. No wonder the Dippers have caught us when we have to piss about with a false 9 because Pep doesn't trust the Brazilian #9 to score goals regularly. Hardly Ronaldo is he. Still having him and not a proper replacement for Kun is going to cost us, again.

I suspect that's more Peps preference than a slant of Gabby. If he chose to set us up in a more direct way,and instructed us to get the ball in the box quicker, then i'm sure Gabby could be much more prolific.

based on him being demonstrably profligate since the end of the 17/18 season? Nice guy, but he doesn't have that ruthless edge in his locker and that's why he hasn't nailed down the spot.

If he was to start each of the possible 17 remaining games this season, would you back him to score the 10-12 goals needed to win us all 3 trophies? I wouldn't, unlike with Kun I'd fancy us to have a chance in at least 2 out of 3 before Pep outsmarted himself in a CL tie and ruined it.

Similar narrative to the derby, we had no chance, right?

you’re continuously negative, clearly one of the spoilt generation…

The kid has 1/3 his city career, works his bollocks off for the collective and negative cunts like you do nothing but moan about ‘he’s no Aguero’, shortsighted at best!

well, are we playing to win Premier League's and Champions League's, or playing to let nice guys not live up to the expectations of a club chasing those targets?

If he was so invaluable, Pep wouldn't leave him out half the time. He'd do great at 89 other clubs in the football league but we're talking about having a frontline that delivers in a clinical fashion to negate the superiority that the Dippers currently has, which has brought them back into contention with a winning run whilst we drop points being profligate with no attacking edge.

I only judge it on the standard the club states. That's the level. If the club want to qualify for top 4 and play McAtee, Palmer, Mbete every week to be the Manchester club and have a homegrown core at the expense of trophies, it's a different story. Haaland and Alvarez wouldn't be in the picture if Jesus had done enough.

Well said. How many times do we have to make it clear that the collective is all. If you want superstars ahead of that, you're supporting the wrong team.

Reading all of this, if the club decides we bring in Haaland and Alvarez while moving on from Sterling and Gabby does that make Txiki and Pep ungrateful cunts? I'm not saying what my opinion is...I'm simply asking the question...

There’s no way they both leave

No, why would it? These guys are extravagantly rewarded for what they do, they live like kings. They're not owed anything and nor do they owe City anything.

I agree, unlikely, but I'm asking if either are sold off is the club "ungrateful cunts" like some fans are being referred to on here?...I'll weigh in now...that is an absolutely absurd position to take toward anyone advocating or not minding moving on from Sterling or Gabby, like its some sort of treasonous act...this is professional sports at its highest level...played by extremely well paid professionals...sentimentality is all good for fans and moments and such but the business of winning big at this level is ruthless...anyone who doesn't believe that is sadly mistaken...

It isn’t about signing a superstar for me, it’s about signing any player that can consistently finish enough of the numerous chances this otherwise brilliant team creates.

It’s frustrating that we are so obviously better than Liverpool yet because they can virtually guarantee a goal or two from any of their forwards we cannot shake the bastards off. I think if we’d signed Kane last summer, or Haaland, or anyone who was a proper striker we’d be 6 or 7 points clear of those scouse twats now.

We need someone to score the goals in those tight games against obdurate teams, not have 20 chances all blocked/offside/shot wide/scuffed. Even the odd cock-up at the back inevitably leading to a goal from the opponent’s one attempt won’t matter if we had a goalscorer, as we’d have stuck two or three in.

Missing a finisher just means the margins are too fine. There‘s no way that fucking Liverpool side should be anywhere near us.

We are lucky we have the best management team at our club. Of course money helps but the tactfullness we did not go for messi, maguire, sanchez, even ronaldo even though our fanbase was excited and were frustrated after we failed to sign them at that time.
Even barca did a good job not resigning Messi.
The results now shows that barca are back to the best with xavi. They have managed life briliantly without messi.

We would have signed Sanchez for sure if the Rags dint pay him as much as they did. I think Messi would have come as well but the Grealish signing took it out of question.
With regards to Barcelona and Messi, Barcelona had no option with their wage structure. They couldn't even afford Messi, who was ready to take a 50% pay cut. Recent results are great but they still got kicked out of CL and only achievement this season would be a top 4 finish now. Their scatter gun approach has stuck for now but I would wait until next season before really bigging them up. With their finances and state they have signed too many players. Not sure how they could afford it either. They have forced a lot of their players to take a wage cut, which is going to increase probably next season.
